Still no water. It's going on a week now. We once went without water for three months, so this isn't anything really new, but it never gets less annoying.
Note to self (whispered aloud for fullest self-comprehension): Ecu is still a third-world country... Ecu is still a third-world country... Ecu is still a third-world country...

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Rant.. Sunday morning, I'm up early so that I can pack my clothes, tools, parts, and make the seaplane to head to St. Croix.. I get tired of having to use my personal time for work without being compensated for it because when I take a "screw off" day, I have to lie about it or be penalized. Just doesn't seem fair..

Caryh, your fish idea has come to near fruition. My husband returns from the store with some sort of canned gelled fish egg patty product and then begins heating it in a pan. OMG I'm going to die. The smell, the smell!

Holy mackerel, K. -- you've been sandbagging us. Whereas most women tend to be rather average-looking, only a few get to look like you, see man. And, you're at least a partial rubia? Not fair, no man.

I think you said I'm decent looking.

I wouldn't want anyone thinking that.

Here you go.

I'm up early because jackass downstairs wasn't taught how to close doors properly

 you were supposed to keep the smell outside.

My wife has been longingly looking at durian in the market lately. It stinks so bad, it's only to be eat outdoors here. She's waiting for the weather to warm up. Other stinky foods are only cooked outside but we do eat them inside.

Rant - Drunks on the dance floor. Don't dance with someone as drunk as you, so they can keep you from tromping all over the other people. Also, have that partner be big enough to keep your hippo sized body under control. The two of you looked like a pair of breeding hippos in a small pond. If you must mate drunk in public, take it to a corner of the bar. And if you're drunk and determined to mate on the dance floor with your equally drunk and obese partner, leave your damn drinks at the table. The rest of us don't like slipping on the drink you spilled all over the dance floor, including the damn ice cubes.

It was my totally awkward age.

I'm also proudly sporting a hand puff-painted sweater with turtles on it.

I'm awesome.

AMG This wedding sh*t sucks.

I'm at 3.7k already.

My sister is starting to rethink wanting to invite so many people.

God most people look at their wedding pictures and think "I wish I was that skinny again" I sit here and think JESUS HOW DID I MAKE MYSELF GET THAT DAMN FAT!
