its not always the man cheating. Women cheat just as much. After all, who do you think the men cheat with?
I have an imaginary harem of 6 rubias (blondes), and Mrs. T-B. has an imaginary rojo (redhead). Whenever I'm half an hour late coming home from work and I haven't pre-notified her, she asks, "Where have you been?" and I matter-of-factly reply, "With the rubias, si man."

If I'm going to be late and I do notify her of it, I tell her that the rubias want to rendezvous with me, thus causing my lateness, see man. I explain that this gives her extra time with the rojo.

When Mrs. T-B. says that she wants to go out by herself, I say, "Give my regards to the rojo, si man."

I don't remember inviting a blizzard to this party I call wednesday
Snow is just "fat water," si man, eh.

there are only a handful of other Ecuadorian IR-1/CR-1 cases on VJ, and most have either incomplete timelines or are seriously outdated (from '08 - '10).
I hate to speculate "aloud" on why the timelines from that time frame are incomplete, but the phrase "####### Guayaquil consulate" comes vividly to mind, sigh man.

Why do I not get English in America?
"It's Bush's fault and you're a racist"?

Actually, it's frightening how thick are the dialects of CBP agents and other police sorts in south Texas.

I got lost once in Eagle Pass, Tex. and stopped at a gas station to ask directions. Neither of the two chicas behind the counter spoke a lick of English, no man. I was just hot-'n'-bothered enough to say, "What country am I in?" If I'd been overheard, I'd probably have been knifed, sigh man.

Pregnancy is a mental illness, sigh man. Mrs. T-B. only occasionally, and dimly, realized that she was psycho.

One instance of what I faced was this: We were lying in bed at 11:40p. Mrs. T-B. turned to me with a snarl and said, "I want mangoes! Very hard, and very green!" Fortunately, I was able to beat it to the supermarket (before it closed at midnight) and locate some mangoes, si man. Presumably, they were of adequate turgidity and greenness, whew man, because I am here to tell of it, see man.

hahah that's funny, and it's sweet that you went to get them :)

I just stopped in to say hello to everyone on the thread.

I'm in kuala lumpur.

The flight was murderous....

I started documenting my trip and the bizarre foods I'm coming across. I just bought a pulled tea to go, it's given to you in a plastic bag.

The rant.....the hong kong transfer was crazy. I literally walked a mile to get to the next plane. But there's smoking areas in the hk airport. And the bathrooms are super clean.

So far, the extended family is treating me like a king. I'm still my father in laws favorite son in law lol.....

Yes, that must be it.

Seriously, though, come on! I don't care if you're multi-lingual. Speak Spanish or Portuguese or Italian or Irish or French or German or Tagalog or Hebrew or Welsh when you're at home or with your friends and family or with your coworkers if you're so inclined. But if you're in a business setting, speaking to a customer, unless it is specifically requested otherwise, you'd better be speaking English well enough to be understood. Christ on a cracker! I was a social worker, in child protective services, before I stayed home with The Nugget. And you can be darn tootin that part of the requirements for working for that particular government agency was speaking English. And while you're speaking that English, please make sure it's intelligible. It's important stuff you're talking about.

A number of years ago I stayed in Hialeah, FL for my work. I arrived at the hotel to check in, and was greeted in Spanish. There was literally no one at the front desk who spoke or understood English. They had to call someone who did on the phone to act as a translator. This wasn't a case of accents or hard to understand broken English, this was a Holiday Inn with no one who spoke English right in the Miami area. Made me feel I had landed south of the border, rather than the USA. Needless to say, I checked out of that hotel the next day and moved to an American party of Miami. It may not have been as close to the place I was working, but at least I could communicate with them.

They're just trying to get your defenses down until they can get you into the provinces. Keep the kevlar scarf on, si man. Your SIL may have convinced Tiff to send a copy your life insurance policy to her.

The Hong Kong airport is totally out of this world! There's really no way to describe the place. I think your mile walk to change planes was a short one for that place. How many vertical stories did you need to change?

I don't know if maybe I'm weird, but the Spanish doesn't bother me too much, I mean we have Puerto Rico as a territory and English is not the official language of America. Mind you, my Spanish is limited mostly to miming, but it gets the job done. Although, I do think it is a wise choice that everyone involved with customers should be able to speak at least understandable English.

We were having some work done on our house and the construction foreman was I think Ecuadorian?, but he had lived in Connecticut for about 18 years. He tried to have a conversation with me and I had to just give up at a certain point. 18 years and you have no excuses for not learning enough English to have a conversation.

 *hides* Actually, you should see the dirty looks I get here now that I've lived here about 7 months and am not at an advanced level in Danish. You'd think I was dirt or something. For the first few months people would try and stay in English for me, but you pass the 4 month mark and it is like 90% Danish even with people who are perfectly comfortable in English. :crying: In one way it is harsh given that most of them studied English for at least 10 years and watch English TV shows and movies and they expect me to catch up quickly, but in another way, I almost wish we did that in America to foreigners. It is sort of an assimilate or GTFO thing.

I've given plenty a dirty look for spanish-only speaking.

Though my years of working at mcdonalds has made me an expert in broken drive-thru spanish.

Well my husband is sure starting my day off right.

Says he doesn't feel well: not going to work.

Remember, he only works 1 day a week for 4 hours and has been saying every morning for the past week that he "doesn't feel good"

Go into the kitchen to make me my last bowl of cereal (pay day tomorrow) and husband ate it this morning while he was not getting ready for work because he 'didn't feel good'

There's nothing to eat.

It's was f*cking SPECIAL K!

MY GODDAMN HEALTHY CEREAL!

I DONT GIVE A DAMN THAT YOU ATE YOUR LAST BOWL OF NOODLES AT 11PM LAST NIGHT SO HAVE NOTHING.

WORK MORE SO WE CAN BUY MORE FOOD!

Even better yet, work what you're SUPPOSED to so I don't have to supplement with MY money to pay bills that you can't.

NOT. COOL.

I would offer a hug but I am too scared of you right now ;) So...question.....why does he work one day a week, only 4 hours ?

Also, if someone touched my healthy cereal and the only bowl left.....I would flip out, I don't feel so strange anymore so thanks for that.

GC received on the 28th of February, 2014 - no interview, no additional RFE's

Divorced as of September, 2014
