Thank you, Steve. And now that I've caught up on the rest of the thread, instead of just posting my rant, I feel like a bit of a whingey b*tch, considering what you're having to deal with. I am so sorry. I know that the pressure to sacrifice yourself for family can be overwhelming, but as a mom, everyone else is simply going to have to take a backseat to my little girl. As her mother, it's my responsibility to ensure HER well-being before anyone else's.

Of course, it's easier for me to say that, since I'd dump a bucket of water on my sister if she was on fire, but that's about the extent to which I'd exert myself for her benefit.

I hope that your situation works itself out soon....I'll be sending good vibes your way.

Thank you for your kind words. I sure hope those good vibes find their way here.....

Please don't feel like you're whining, this thread was created for exactly what you posted. Without anyone else criticizing.

rant. I just renewed my regi for the GMC. I hadn't noticed it in the past (Or I didn't handle it, or the fee is new). The 2 year regi for the Yukon in NYC is now 187.00 dollars.

There's a 32 dollar surcharge for an 8 cylinder, and a NYC-MCTD charge of 50 dollars (I don't know what that is)

They managed a new way to sucker the NYC car owner......

Are they kidding me?

Did you get the Yukon to haul the boat?

Gov Jessi The Body lowered our registration back when he was our gov. both repubs and demos have raised it multiple times since he left office. He's been our only gov that every really lowered taxes that the average person felt here, but yet they smear his name to this day. I guess still pissed a non major party took that office from them. they also raised the bar it takes for a third party canidate to be included in debates after to. I guess afraid third party candidates were closing in on there power sharing.

Wow your regi cost more than ours.......

No, the Yukon can't haul the boat, my boat is a 30 footer and weighs 6 tons, there's a pic of it in my photos here.

I had a long long talk with Tiff. We've stopped yelling. She was in tears. I even brought up what everyone says on VJ. And she's not going to give her sis the $$. We straightened out some things. But still a lot to be resolved. Mainly she does not admit that she's wrong.

I have not decided whether if I'm going to let her take our daughter out of the country.

Her sis in the basement? I told her to get the ef out of my house. And take her stupid husband with her. They didn't dare venture above the basement level tonight.

Well at least the yelling has stopped. I'm not sure Tiff is wrong from a Thai point of view. From a western point of view, I'd say she is. From a Filipino point of view, she would not be. That is why I say I'm not sure she's wrong from a Thai point of view. Let me throw out another point of view, now I don't know all the particulars in your case, but see it this might relate. Her sister is marrying into a moneyed family. The The father of this moneyed family give 50K so his son and daughter in law can live and look to be prosperous. This is kind of a requirement in some societies, if you're going to be prosperous. If you don't look like you are, no one is going to take you serious and you're probably not going to get there.

Now her family, doesn't have a lot. No way mom and pop can pitch in this nice gift to match what the father in-law has done to set up the newlywed couple. They can't even come close. So the family comes off looking like the poor family link. Must of married her for her looks, because she certainly didn't bring anything into the marriage. In looks Tiff, our family is coming off looking pretty bad in this. Look my husband pays all the bills. I've been allowed to do what I want with any money I have and I'm sit on a stack. I can save the family this embarrassment, save the family face in this situation. After all, we're doing pretty darn good. Live in a nice place, have nice things, and we've saved pretty good. Suddenly the money she thought was her's to chose to do with as she wanted, has conditions on it. Suddenly its not her's so much any more, unless she's spending it in a way you approve.

Now it would chap my butt to high heaven to have my wife hand over that kind of money. In the west you might do that for your kid, but a sibling? Why its pretty much unheard of. There are things I do because my wife's culture is a bit different than ours. None have even been close to what you're facing, but I've learned my mind has to be open to viewing events through different eyes and coming up with solutions that work for us, not just her or me.

I hope I'm making sense here, I just want you an Tiff to find your way through this.

Oh and the ranting about my ex and the whole truck thing, I just found out the ex just was diagnosed with cancer. I'm not sure if I should feel guilty for wishing about a truck or think karma's a b!tch.

he technically did everything right: texted me to let me know, puked in the toilet and cleaned up, changed into clean clothes before coming to bed, put his phone on silence so it wouldn't wake me up
Considering how "nothing good happens after midnight," and considering the irresponsible machista behavior of 99.44% of all Ecuatorianos, and considering how Ecus party, and considering that he'll leave his amigos soon, this sounds like a match made in heaven for you, si ma'am. I'm sincerely very encouraged by this show of responsibility.

Sidebar note: Mrs. T-B.-to-be arrived at POE (by virtue of the K-1) looking quite dazed, and she promptly got beastly sick with a roaring upper respiratory infection, sigh man. It turned out that she had attended 3 despedidas (going-away parties) in 3 different Ecu cities before boarding her plane, and hadn't slept in something like 30 hours, zzz man.
