My rant for the day: Having to pack up and move countries again with a year....is not fun. I'm happy, don't get me wrong, but I find this process daunting.

Is it telling that I didn't sell my truck or get rid of any of my furniture in America?

rant-

I hate hate how the embassy will not give you a clear answer on questions. My sister-in-law was in stupid administrative processing for 50 days after her interview and they wouldn't even tell us what it was all about, if the interview went good or not. just kept her passport and told her to wait. Called the department of state same answer....whole lot of nothing. Had the senator call/email the embassy and they got same unclear answer of what is going on and just said it is ap. The senator thankfully called/email Department of state and they told us it was background checks and they are done so we should get visa within a few days. This same of department of state has been telling me that whatever it was embassy level and they have no information. where did you get the information now? is it so hard to say its background check, be patient?

In retrospect, I wish I hadn't bought any furniture here and had just looked for a furnished apartment to rent, because now I have to get rid of an entire apartment's worth of stuff before we leave in May. It's kind of good because that money should pay for all of our travel costs, but trying to find buyers is stressful. headbonk.gif

Yeah, we're regretting the 4-bedroom house now. :crying: We're planning on renting it furnished, so we won't have to move an entire household of stuff, but man, I'm looking forward to the Irish market picking back up.

I had bought some super cheap Ikea furniture when I moved here, so selling it for almost nothing or giving it away is in the cards. I am just so worried about having to have everything out of the apartment and clean and ready to go. Mind you, I've already started packing, but still... I prepped and packed for about 3 months before I moved to Denmark. Now I've got maybe 5 weeks to have all this done and I have to drag my husband along kicking and screaming to go through his stuff. :crying:

Yeah, we're regretting the 4-bedroom house now. :crying: We're planning on renting it furnished, so we won't have to move an entire household of stuff, but man, I'm looking forward to the Irish market picking back up.

That would stress me out.

Dear Ex In-Laws:

I try with you, I really do. I let you Skype with my daughter and I send you pictures and updates, even though your son has never bothered to see my daughter. I get that we haven't talked much over the past 2 months because I've been stressed and super busy with things here, but now you are ignoring my emails and playing games and I HATE that.

I am doing you a favor because frankly I didn't think you were good parents to your son after you abandoned him with his grandparents and you barely have energy to play with my daughter when you visit. I think you like the pictures of her more than you like her...

My husband's parents are absolutely amazing grandparents, so stop pretending that you can even compare. Oh, and if you make one more comment about her having "Viking" blood or comment about how pale she is.... I really am going to flip.

Have you looked into getting an ITN for your husband? I've heard of some people going that route when their spouse was over seas. Although I'm not entirely sure if its legit. Also heard of people filing for an extension or amending their return after the spouse gets here. I'm not really sure how well any of these methods have worked, I've just heard it thrown about over the years.

Thanks. Yeah I know all that. We have interview on Tax day. And really too late for ITIN and too much trouble at this point. I shouldn't be required to have to file anyway so not worries. I just was stunned the difference in the amount. Like WOW.

My Tax Rant:

I get super steamed when I read of people having a massive fail with the ID requirements for the ITIN, IRS Form W-7.

Folk seem to think that a pile of ID stuff suffices, when a Vice-Consul-notarized passport bio page suffices.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I hear ya. I have read a few times people saying "well NVC doesn't require a notarized passport pages. Like huh!

And the embassy is like Darnell going from Dallas to Houston. No small feat. So we will wait. I mean he will be here in May or June and well. I owe IRS $1700 so not in any hurry. hehe

Ouch your bill is bigger than mine. I'm about a grand to the IRS this year. I found out my wife didn't do the withholding I told her to, or we would have been about zero.
