when you really think about the meaning of the word "friend", what's a friend to you? what's a friend to me? How many people will have more than 1 or 2 friends in their lifetimes?

To me, if I have 1 friend, I'm very fortunate. (and I do)

My friend is my husband.

I don't have anyone that I text.

Or make casual conversation with

Or complain with.

Or go to the movies with.

Except my husband.

Lemme see if I could be a novelist..........

Steve is sitting at his desk with his feet up. The wireless keyboard on his lap, he can barely see the the letters on it. It's 11AM and the sky is grey with an overcast. The LCD screen glows dimly and the whisper of the ventilation system can be heard. He looks out at the second story cathedral window and the clouds can be seen between the gaps of the sateen curtains..........

THE SUN CAME OUT! :dancing: I ran upstairs to put the clothes in the washing machine so I can hang them before the sun goes away, only to find the entire rooftop flooded! I had to take off my shoes and roll my pants up to my knees. In a few minutes I have to go back up to hang them on the clothesline and will have to wade through that murky water again.

The washing machine is on the roof???

It must be a regional thing. When I lived in Mexico our wash basins were on the roof in a washing room.

 Yep! They even made a washing machine shaped cover for when it rains so it doesn't rust.

I'm pretty sure it is. There's a sink/washing area on the roof of nearly all houses, since that's where most people have their clotheslines.

Knowing how hot it is in the Philippines sun, I can't imagine how bad it would be washing by hand on a roof. Maybe drying, that heat probably could help speed up drying in a humid climate. Filipinos often do the wash outside, but they set their washing area up in the shade.

Rant... Husband actually said tome this morning that america is better than Canada. I replied in some ways and he always means in a military way. "We won two world wars and Canada just tags along or shows up." Wow I was annoyed.

It all started over the confusion that schools I know of up here don't have cafeterias until high school so I was confused when I said I was making my daughter her lunch and he said I thought she ate at school... Ends up with this statement. To which I almost replied he could take his immigration and shove it. In the end I just said I love my country and would prefer not to defend it to him. I also gave him control to call the nvc to get our case information. I'm not doing it anymore. I feel like I'm pushing the immigration along and I'm doing it all for him. Argh!

I do believe it is covered, but still on the roof.

We have disagreements like that sometimes. I think that is pretty typical. :innocent: Still irritating, though.

RANT: I am so sick of a few people being so freaking negative on these forums. You have hopeful people who are waiting patiently for their applications to be processed, and then you have a negative Nancy crapping on their wait times even more giving all these unfounded reasons why this service centre or that service centre is so slow and blah blah blah blah blah. Now these poor people have even more worries piled on top of their other worries!
