Hi guys,

Do i need to take my Philippine passport for domestic flight here in US? I have my maiden name on my passport and married name on my GC, my husband booked the ticket under my married name. Will that be alright? Also any more documents that I have to take with me?

Thank you.

Good question.

I would think a photo ID only. Passport is for travel out of the USA.

Ask the Airline, and let us know.

If you have a us driver license or a state ID you do not need the passport at all.

No you do not need to take your passport for domestic flights within the USA, you have your GC that is all that is required that you carry. No need to carry your marriage certificate either.

Bring your marriage license to explain the name difference

Driver license or state ID isn't a substitute for the passport... but the GREEN CARD is!!!! Without a green card foreigners are required to carry their passport.... but there is a green card so nothing else is needed.

Uhm yes it is, I fly domestic in the USA with JUST My drivers license all the time. No issue ever. I have never once shown a green card or been asked to show a green card for domestic flights.

Just going by what Immigrations told us, plus Border Patrol said the same thing when I was chatting with them... passport needs to be on hand for foreigners until you receive a green card or the person can be detained (all this information readily available on Immigration's website). You may rarely be asked for either and do just fine showing a driver's license as ID for domestic travel as TSA only want some sort of ID... but don't leave home without the GC.
