I read through the instructions and I couldn't find anywhere "my case" (J-1 Visa holder inside the US) so I couldn't judge if I needed to submit any Passport style photographs for the I-131. I already paid $30 for 6 photos for my I-130, I-485 and I-765? Do they need yet more photos in my case?

Also I found I only needed to fill out Part 1,2,3 & 7 of the form (very easy and straight forward) But it did say in part 7 of I-131 to provide documentation on why I should be allowed to travel. Any examples?

You can use it for general travel once it is approved and in your possession, as long as you have not overstayed.

I don't think it's strictly necessary to have it "in your possession" when you leave the country. (How does anyone know what you have in your possession when you leave the country?)

Also, "as long as you have not overstayed" is not true since Matter of Arrabally, although some people on this site have doubts about that decision.

This is all really splitting hairs.

If you leave before it is approved, then you will abandoned your case. CBP recommends you have the document in your hand before you go, in case something happens to it.

Arabelly is not yet law.

OP: Yes, you need photos.

You don;t need to provide documentation. AP is routinely approved for people with pending I-485s.

AOS for my husband
