Hi everyone I am begging for help. ? short recap I-130 for my husband (husband in mexico)submitted and receipt date of 11-14-2011!!! That's right it's been way over a year. My case was transferred to the Los Angeles field office way back in June 2011 for an interview for myself. Since then I've submitted numerous service requests, gone on two infopass appointments and reached out to my local congressman. And still nothing. I am so sad bc I feel no one understands what it feels like to live each day not knowing when u will finally be able to start your life with he person you love the most. I don't know what else to do other than find a way to speak to president Obama and asking him to help. Please if anyone has any suggestions on what I can do. Please let me know. God bless

So, i'm assuming you mean your paperwork was transferred in 2012, NOT 2011, correctly?

Because it can't be transferred before it's sent.

Yes sorry My case was transferred in June 2012. I went on my first info pass in August 2012 and they told me I was waiting for an interview and should be getting one anytime within 6 months. I waited and still nothing. I began doing service requests and they all kept telling me different things. One service request came back and said my case was in puerto Rico! I went on another infopass last Friday. At the infopass the agent told me my paperwork was misplaced and had only been waiting in line for an interview since nov 2012. When I asked him where it had been from June 2012 to nov 2012 he simply said it had been misfiled and somehow got lost for a while

Thats kind of awful that you were misfiled between June and Nov and were not in the interview system.

It seems like you did mostly everything right. You went to an infopass in Aug and were told you were in the interview scheduling system.

But then when you werent scheduled you followed up with a service request. Thats a mistake. Service requests cant see anything the local offices are doing. You must return to the infopass/local office from now on to monitor the case and to ensure you are still waiting in the interview scheduling system.

So youre back in now. Theyre telling you youve been in waiting since Nov. Youre in LA. Its a busy office. It could take a while for a slot to open.

I would make an appt every month to verify that I am still in the system waiting and havent gotten 'misfiled' out again. When the slot opens, youll get your interview. Just monitor it, and the only way to monitor it is through infopass.

Thank you. I will keep making the infopass appointments and hopefully won't be much longer
