Hi!

I'm a K-1, got married and now we're about to file for the AOS. We are working on the Affidavit of support now, and I'm confused on what income put on the forms. For what I know we can add the BAH and other allowances to the base pay, but when it comes to question #25, when it asks the total income for the most recent years, it clearly asks to state the adjusted income as reported on the tax return, but it wouldn't include the allowances. I'm not sure what to do here.

Need some help!!!

Thank you :)

Ok. For the most recent year (2012) also? Because in the previous question about the annual income we put the pay + BAH, BAS etc. And now if we put the gross income as in the tax forms the amount would be different, would this be an issue? Thats what really confuses me

Question #25 refers to federal income tax only. This is basically info about the PAST. You enter here the adjusted gross income reported on the IRS transcripts (or on personal copies of your records) of the most recent three years. That is: 2009, 2010, and 2011, if your husband has not filed the taxes of 2012 yet (they are due in April). Otherwise 2010, 2011, and 2012 (probably better to send in up-to-date info).

The previous question refers to CURRENT annual income. So yeah, it can be different than the adjusted gross income reported on the most recent tax return. You can also read pagg 7 and 8 of the instructions about it.
