I am looking through all the Advanced Parole links, but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for.

What I Know

Once my fiance arrives, and we marry, he can apply for Adjustment of Status, Advanced Parole and the EAD concurrently. AP and EAD are now on the same card. The purpose of AP is for brief visits outside of the country while waiting for AOS.

What I Don't Know

1. People have mentioned several times about asking permission to leave the country. If you get the AP/EAD card, is that the permission being granted? In other words, can my husband then use his AP/EAD card to exit the country if needed or is there an additional request he must provide?

2. It is also mentioned that AP is not for extended stay? How long exactly is not an extended stay? Is that something that is left up to the border police or is there a definite amount of time allowed?

1) Yes the Advance Parole is the permission he needs.

2) Extended stay is anything over 6 months... most of the time. This may be country dependent. He needs to be living in the USA more than he is out of it.
