Netherlands Police Certificate NVC Checklist

This question is for people who have lived in the Netherlands:

After submitting my DS 230 and civil documents to the NVC, I was given a checklist by the NVC that asks for a Netherlands police certificate.

As some of you may know, applicants may not request a Netherlands police certificate themselves.

The department of state reciprocity schedule entry for the Netherlands states:

Available. Police records can only be requested for immigrant visa applicants by the United States Consulate or Embassy where the applicant's case is being processed. Any certificate presented directly by applicants cannot be accepted. To request a police record, the visa processing post should send an email to the Consulate General in Amsterdam at ImmigrantVisasAMS@state.gov.

I even provided a cover letter explaining the peculiar situation in the Netherlands, and the letter provides all the information they would need to request the police certificate on my behalf. It seems to not have helped

I am curious to find out if any others have encountered this problem? How did you handle the situation?

I'm also curious about this. I will encounter this problem at some point. I know they do not accept the "good conduct" certifications.
