Yes! It's appropriate because it does start off a tad strong but it mellows out and has a nice fragrance once you give it some time. :D

UJslN, official mena mean girls perfume!

My husband wears it only when he goes out, he was putting a lot on especially when going to job interviews. I had to explain to him that most men here don't wear cologne all the time, and if they do it is subtle, that he doesn't want to overcome the person interviewing him with fumes and have to perform CPR because the poor person can;t breathe whistling.gif Now when he puts it on he sprays it in the air and walks through it. He got that little trick from me. He is addicted to the spray deodorant too, but I don't mind. I myself like to wear body spray, jasmine is my favorite, reminds me of Jordan. Speaking of that, does anyone know if jasmine will grow and survive if I plant it outside in the Northeast? We live in New Hampshire. I've Googled it and can't find 2 people who agree if it will survive or not

Real jasmine-- no. What USDA zone are you? The closest imitation you may get is actually not a jasmine, but Trachelospermum jasminoides (Confederate jasmine). it has been said to survive in 6b, which may be possible for you up against the house with mulch and protection with protection, assuming it will probably be killed every few years anyway. Your best bet is to container-grow a jasmine and bring it out for the warmer weather.

Did you take a picture of the blooming jasmine you happen to like from Jordan? if so, send it to me and I'll tell you which plant it is you want. There are many, perhaps over 100 plants with the common name Jasmine which may or may not really be a jasmine. So to get the right scent you need the right one :)

and to answer my zone question: http://www.garden.org/zipzone/

put your zipcode in and it will tell you.

Everyone here has given very good advice, they are only looking out for you best interest. This process isn't for the faint of heart, take it from someone who had HUGE red flags.. We have a big age difference, 21 years, I am older, different religions, married on first visit, I am divorced with children, so we had lots of red flags, and I am sure there were more I just can't think of them all at the moment innocent.gif .We were able to overcome them all with much time spent together before he arrived. I didn't find visa journey until after my husband's petition was approved and he was at the NVC. Spending the summer there is a good idea, and can only help you. Take the advice the women here have given, they are all seasoned veterans and know well what they speak of. Good luck!

Just wanted to give a woop woop to my girl here. Rockin the 21 years different. My role model. Me and my husband 21 years apart also. YAY and time together is the only way to help erase that. I spent 6 1/2 months with husband first visit we married. Getting ready to go back and stay a few months than interview.

This surely isn't for the faint or those who want instant results. This surely is a marathon and not a sprint.

All I can say is I soooooooo wish I found the love of my life at 18. I found him at 50. Now 54 I am learning all what momma taught me. No matter you are 18, 28, 38 or 108. Marriage is no joke for real. Go spend time with your husband. Learn grow together not for immigration but for your future. I wish you all the best in the world. God bless you all (Thanks for letting me peak in. Now I want pancakes and waffles) (L)

I tell the Bearded American that although I wish I had met him sooner, we had to wait until we were both fully cooked. I'm more scrambled than cooked, but whatever.

What I love about being in love as a perigeriatric woman (big birthday this year!) is how lovely and mellow our relationship can be. No drama, no shouting, no wild protestations of love. There is bedrock beneath us, and I don't worry about it shifting. Plus he makes wicked pancakes, and chocolate bars and marshmallows from scratch!

Now I really miss him -- he's in Tennessee this week, burying his mother who passed away unexpectedly. I keep smelling him on me -- John Varvatos Artisan. cray5ol.gif

this is the one, my inlaws have it in the garden, along with gardenia plants. My hubby got me a gardenia plant for Valentines and the whole house smells amazing. I remember sitting in Jordan and the smell of Jasmine and Gardenia wafting in. My zip code is 03104 Manchester NH. Thanks!

Yeah, you're 5A, way too cold for Jasmine. So you can grow it in a pot and take it in and out provided you have a lot of light inside-- a south-facing window for winter.

awwwwww...I so adore you. Everything you said is true, and like you I found true love much later than 18. At any age it is work, but worth every second for the right person. You are 54, seriously????? I wouldn't have guessed even close to that, I thought you were in your late 30's at the most!

What you said about grow together not for immigration, but for your future is spot on!!! <3

Oh no, plenty of things which need chill hours that can't be grown in warmer places like Jordan-- like good lilacs!

What about blueberries in Egypt? Any idea? Hmmmmmm?

How cold do you get? It's probably dependent on the heat stress of the summer coupled with water loss and lack of chill hours that may thwart it. What state do you think your area is most comparable with? Do you ever freeze? Summer max temps?

Personally, I would equate Alexandria in the winter to Michigan in the fall/early spring. It gets quite chilly but I don't know how often it actually freezes. Summer is humid like here and max temp is probably low-mid 90s but it cools off nicely in the evening.

My guess would be that you may need to look into importing from Europe to do it though. And it will take a few years to get a good crop. You probably will get some right away though after the first year.

Ugh, lol deleted my own post. Anyway I said it could be done-- you need a southern highbush type and then grow it in a container. Add peat to get the soil pH to 4.5-5.5.
