Hey all

Im the us citizen thus the petitioner and im currently waiting for my noa2 for the fiance visa. Im a November filer. Anyway, i lived my whole life in Lebanon and i just came back to the US 3.5 months ago. I don't own a house i live in rent. I have a family emergency that requires me to go to lebanon for 2months and thus im losing the apartment and my job which will make it an issue for the paystubs and affidavit of support when i come back. What should i do? Cancel the process and then start the process over again when i come back? Will that lead to a denied visa? I hope u get what im trying to ask because im devastated.

- i can't keep the apartment, i can't pay for 2 months i won't be living here, thus i can't keep that address for the visa.

- as i mentioned i have lived in Lebanon my whole life. No tax returns. But i read that 6-7 months of paystubs meeting the requirements is enough. That's why its going to be an issue when i come back.

I hope you understand what im trying to ask. Thanks for all the help and advice.

As a US citizen, you are required to file US tax returns on your worldwide income even if you earn nothing in the US.

You are working on the wrong premise that 6-7 months of paystubs are enough.

You may want to read the instructions for ALL the forms before you make your decision. Have you read the instructions for Form I-864?

- You will need to backfile taxes for at least three years. a US citizen is supposed to file tax returns even when living abroad.

- Are you sure the emergency in Lebanon will only take 2 months? If so, you can delay the process by taking your time sending back forms and you should be back in time to have some paystubs (assuming you are reasonably confident you can find a job quickly when you return).

- A co-sponsor may be another option if you know someone in the USA whop'd do that. Search around to see if your local US embassy accepts co-sponsors for the K1.
