On that note, it IS because he is in another country. It's because he's so far away from me. :( I know he fits in, in India, better than I ever would, but it doesn't stop me from worrying. I just take it one day at a time.

Mandi I understand your concerns... I too worry for Janaks safety.. but .. hey it is his Country. his culture.. he knows how things are... Yes I will always fret... I fear for his health.. his safety that is the nature of the beast... Is he in danger? NOOO.. not when it comes to the fears we have here in USA.. .. thank goodness for some of the strickness of his culture.. no guns, no alcohol.etc... . Jan is from Gujurat... so .. certain things are a trade off.

What I have concerns for is health issues.. HIS His children... .. Chickengunia is crazy where he is.. it is a flu like bug given by the mosquitoes.. 6-10 days of temp and headache and body aches.. then you think you are better.. then all a sudden your legs swell.. joints lock up .. unable to stand or walk... CDC states only treatment is Tylenol or Neproxin (ALeve) Jan is now sick in bed.. and Myself being in the medical profession.. am extremely helpless... .. I fear for his treatment.. his health.. all of that..

In that way I am protective... yes.. dammit yess I am .. thank god I am .. and thank god he is of me as well... .. someone has to .. haha.

I just wish the worry part would be over.. and he can be in my arms.. letting me give my tlc that is needed..

When my husband was still in Italy, I would always worry about him because he didn't have any family there, so if he had an accident, who would take care of him? Now that he's here, I still worry a little bit. I think it's natural (to a certain extent) to want to make sure the one you love is safe :) but that being said, my husband is a 23 year old Albanian -- he can hold his own ;)

He worries about me too, and it usually comes out at weird times, like I'd have walked somewhere alone at night and he won't say anything until like 3 days after the fact. Then he'll be like "I really wish you would take a cab next time" or something random lol.

By 'protective' do you really mean 'not trusting'?

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

Ryan and I both worry about each other's health. I'm also in the medical field, but probably not as advanced as some. I want to be able to take care of him when he is sick, but I can't. Once Ryan is here, my worrying will cease to exist.

As for worrying with bomb scares or what-not. Well, I guess it's not really safe ANYWHERE you go nowdays. So, I worry about that anyway.

I'm protective in the sense that I watch out for his back, 'cus Luis is very absent minded and will forget his own head if I don't constantly remind him of things.

"Luis, did you set the alarm to go to work tomorrow?" Always No

"Luis, did you call your work like they asked you to?" Nope

"Luis, did you stop by your mom's to pick her up and give her a lift?" OMG, I'm on my way

You know, he says that he'd be a complete mess if I didn't help him get this obligations done. I do get tired of doing this sometime, and I feel like I am nagging, but really, he's very forgetful.

On other issues I did get worried when he was going to fly to see me, or anything that might sound dangerous, 'cus I worry for his safety.

I'm protective of my Joel...you damn right I am! He is of me as well. It has nothing whatsoever to do with not trusting. When I love someone I am protective...just as we are with our daughter. I know he's a grown man and can take care of himself. Still, I don't like anyone messing with my beloved or our daughter. He's learning the ropes so to speak so as far as safety I'm not as worried as I was at first. It's like this: mess with me all you want but leave my husband and daughter alone. It's a Southern woman thing. ;)
