How protective are you over your SO? What are the issues? Are you insecure or just don't want anything to happen to them? Someone please tell me I'm not the only one protective over my fiancé with certain issues...I do it because I care. Are they protective over you with some issues?

Like... fear for their safety if they are in a volatile area? Then, yes. Otherwise... I don't get it. You mean like, not giving them the whole story or acting jealous? Noooo not a recipe for success, no.

Nah, not over protective. Like worrying about them. Safety issues, yes. Ryan is always worrying about my safety. On most things. LOL! I'm a tough gal, kinda have to be because of the way my family life was/is, but at the same time, I'm a softy. I worry for him being in another country. I guess that comes with being apart in some cases. He's always telling me nothing will happen to him. Once he's here, my fears will calm down some.

It depends on what you're talking about.

We both worry about each other, but just the right amount I think. I worry about him driving too fast, about how much he's been smoking, about how healthy his meals have been, etc... But I know he's a big boy and can take care of himself, I'm just here to remind him of some of those things every now and then because I love him and I care.

He feels about the same way I do. He cares, he worries about some things but just because he loves me. We don't let it get out of hand though... it can be sufocating. :star:

Yes, I do that. When Sian was still working, she had to take the tube every day to work. I was worried that there would be another tube bombing or something. Whenever she flies (here, Malta, England), I ask her to text me once she's landed. I know I worry too much, but I couldn't stand anything happening to her. Especially with me here and her there. I don't know why, but it seems like it would be much worse while we're separated.

Over-protective though? No. I just worry. It won't be nearly as bad once she's here.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

As a matter of fact Fely is very protective of ME whenever I visit her in the Philippines. She will not let me stand in the rain. She will not let me wander far from the house without an escort. And when we're in Manila she won't let me out of her sight. She's very over-protective of me and it's caused some problems, but I know it's because she cares so I can put up with it. And I'll probably be the same way with her when she finally arrives in America.

My husband commutes an hour down the I-95 to work and an hour back every day. I didn't worry about him in the summer, but now the weather is starting to get messier I find myself getting increasingly worried about him.

I think it's normal to have a certain amount of concern for the safety of your SO - after all, you love this person enough to be spending the rest of your life with them, you want them safe and sound.

Make sure you're wearing clean knickers. You never know when you'll be run over by a bus.

I worry for him being in another country.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but the 'other country' is his homeland, no? It's not like he's an American with a contract job in another country...like how's the gonna blend in, etc?

Unless I've read this wrong, which is quite possible.

I'm not overprotective of D....I do like to know when he's home from being out at night out or things like that, but he's a grown man and has managed to keep himself outta trouble long before I came on the scene

Not too worried. He's a grown man, I trust him. I like him to call me if he's travelling somewhere, and he likes me to call when I get home if I've been out late (I live in a city and his small-town brain is a little freaked out), but neither of us demand an accounting of our time.

What 'fears' do you have? That he'll leave? That he'll be a victim of crime?

I think I just worry too much. I do care about him, and I do love him. I can't help but worry about him at times. <_<

On that note, it IS because he is in another country. It's because he's so far away from me. :( I know he fits in, in India, better than I ever would, but it doesn't stop me from worrying. I just take it one day at a time.

He's very protective over my safety, all the time telling me he will protect me. :) I come home late at night because of the shift I work. With him, he's around other people when he comes home, though it IS late at night as well. But I'm alone when I come home. So, he has a reason to worry about me more, I guess.

I worry whenever Harry has to do any long-distance traveling. Early on in our romantic relationship, there was a bad train accident where a lot of people died. The only reason he didn't get on that train, was because I'd felt as if something bad was going to happen and he stayed with me until I had to go to work and took the next train after that one.

Not long after, there was a bus accident and a bomb scare at a train station during one of his other trips home. I started to get a little bit paranoid about the mass-transit in the Netherlands.

My fiancee lives in downtown Edmonton and doesn't drive (she can drive, she just doesn't own a car), and therefore, she walks to work and walks everywhere else she needs to get to on a daily basis. During the day, this doesn't really bother me -- there are people around, there's daylight, and so forth, so she's relatively safe. It's when she walks as it's getting later in the evening or even sometimes at night that I worry. She tells me not to -- that she doesn't go far or that she watches out for herself, but I still worry.

She worries about me too. I have pretty bad asthma and I get migraine headaches. Whenever I have an asthma attack, it absolutely kills her that she's not here in person with me. She worries about these health issues a lot. She also worries about what I've been eating and if it's "healthy" or not, or how the driving conditions have been.

It's not like we worry about eachother all the time though. We'd both go insane if we did that. ;)
