Hi looking for some help and guidance again, My US fiancee and myself have just sent away our I-129F forms and all relevant paperwork, can anyone advise us as to what happens next? and if we can prepare any further paperwork before the next stage? I have started our timeline but not much on it as we haven't even received a text or email to say they have received our documents, (we posted them on Monday in Houston).

any help would be appreciated.

I used the link below to guide me. Next step is to wait for your NOA1 (I-129F ACCEPTANCE) , which you should receive within a week. After that is the hardest and longest step, wait for NOA2 (I-129 APPROVED), which unfortunately takes about 5-7 months. In between NOA1 and NOA2 you can prepare some documents listed in the link below but other then that its pretty much just waiting... waiting... waiting...

Mainly you just wait, but if you want to know what happens after your petition approval, you can start reading this thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/

It is London specific info and important because each consulate has their own procedures for the visa application, medical, and interview portion. What somebody does in Manila or Juarez may not be how you apply in London. It's in the UK FORUM and you might enjoy reading and joining in there besides keeping up with the K1s waiting on approval.

thank you so much Nich-Nick, you have helped me before with my queries before we sent the I-129f form and you were most helpful too, thanks for the thread I will go to that now to start reading, is 5-7 months the average wait for UK citizens, looks like I will have to develop some patients, not my strong point being patients :)

The wait for petition approval is the same for all countries. The two service centers will vary in their average time, but country makes little difference. If you are from Houston. like me, Vermont Sercice Center will most likely do your case. Your NOA 1 will tell you for sure. You can see where they are now by looking at this page http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/ (middle column...both VSC and CSC currently working on August).

This page shows some trends. Notice the roller coaster effect showing how the VSC and CSC speed up and slow down over the past year. Ignore Texas Service Center.

Then after your 5-7 months, you've got another 2-3 months for the London part. You will find the London graph on this page

http://www.visajourney.com/content/consulate-k1-historical

Those graphs are based on all the visa journey members who keep up their timelines. So no need to ask the most asked question..."how long does it take?" because you may get a few answers from a different timeframe, where the graphs average everybody.
