Can you tell me what kind of documentation you presented? Were they your past I-94's, or visa stamps etc...?

The reason I ask is that I am in the same boat myself. I have been in the U.S. since 1998, first for school and then work. Since 2001, I have been on an H-1B visa, with multiple extensions while my employment based I-485 was in process. So, I have several I-797A (I-94) documents (due to extensions). I am now filing an FB application.

I brought all my I-797A to the interview with copies. She asked for a copy and looked at every original before putting the copies in the file. She really accounted for each time frame. Cause the first I-797A I gave only accounted for my H1C. Then she was like, what happen since 2006 to 2008. Then I had to pull all the I-797A ever since I came here.

As gingin 603 said, bring absolutely everything you have! I also have long history in USA: J1, H2B, B2, F1 ... with total of 7 extensions! I'll bring all of them with me, so I can show them proofs of legal status.

I totally agree. I feel weird letting my husband carry a full back pack with documents (that the guards joked that I have a pressure cooker in there). I brought photos, utility bills, immigration files, personal files, property tax, income tax statements, and the only thing I missed is the kitchen sink. I agree with you Cris&Silvi. Good thing I also kept all my old passports with me which I brought to the interview.

02/03/2013 - AOS package sent. Including I-130, I-485 and I-765

02/11/2013 - NOA I-797 for I-130, I-485 and I-765

02/12/2013 - ASC Biometric - I-797C for 03/12/2013

02/20/2013 - ASC received in mail. Early walk-in same day

03/06/2013 - Online status changed to testing and interview (first time we were able to see online status)

03/18/2013 - Received I-797C Interview notice. Notice day 03/14/2013 Interview date 04/17/2013

04/18/2013 - Online status for I-765 changed: Card production

04/18/2013 - Interview 12.30PM in San Francisco: Approved

04/20/2013 - Received EAD card in mail

04/25/2013 - Received Green Card in mail

I brought all my I-797A to the interview with copies. She asked for a copy and looked at every original before putting the copies in the file. She really accounted for each time frame. Cause the first I-797A I gave only accounted for my H1C. Then she was like, what happen since 2006 to 2008. Then I had to pull all the I-797A ever since I came here.

Thank you both for your comments. I quickly went through my documents and found all but one 797 original. Will dig some more for that one missing document. You don't think I need to take any of the petition documents do I? Like my old Labor Clearance application document, H-1B petition/extension application documents etc... I would imagine just the approvals (797) of those applications would suffice?

I had an I-485 filing already submitted through an employment-based application. Post-marriage, I submitted an I-130, which after being approved was interfiled with the existing I-485.

04/30/14 - Day 391 - Second interfiling service request sent

07/02/14 - Day 454 - Status changed to testing & interview. Interview date August 4!!

08/04/14 - Day 487 - Mini-Stokes interview. IO intended on approving AOS but the computer did not show I-130 approval. The wait goes on...

08/18/14 - Day 501 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 is approved but no card prodn ordered. Asked to call back in 2 weeks if no update.

08/29/14 - Day 512 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 was not approved yet, but my file was with an IO for a decision

09/03/14 - Day 517 - Wrote a request to my Congressman asking for assistance

09/09/14 - Day 523 - Status updated to Card/Document Production

09/15/14 - Day 529 - Status update - Card mailed to address on record/permanent resident status registered

09/15/14 - Day 529 - Status update - Card picked up by USPS.

Did you get a different package separately from the green card?

Cause I noticed that there is another update that I received?

Your Case Status: Decision

On April 26, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Sorry. I brought everything that I have including the labor clearance and all the lawyer letters to the interview. You just never know what they needed in the interview.
