we have power bills, bank checking and saving account, 401K beneficiary under my name and museum membership. We don't have lease because we are living in my spouse's dad property, but he wrote a statement to state that we have been living under his property since we were married. Hopefully, this is enough.

The documents you listed should be enough. Do you have joint tax returns seeing that you have been married since 2009?

My USCIS Journey...

I had an I-485 filing already submitted through an employment-based application. Post-marriage, I submitted an I-130, which after being approved was interfiled with the existing I-485.

Yes, we have all the joint tax returns since 09. I forgot to mention it.

The closer the interview date is, the more worried I am. I am most worried about that the IO thinks we don't have enough documents to prove our relationship.

If we had extra money, we would love to have life and health insurance. However, we just can't afford it now.

That's great! Joint tax returns is a solid 'comingling' document. I think you will be just fine with all the documents you have. Besides the fact that you have been married since 2009 will be huge! Relax now ... you will be fine!

That sounds like a good set of documents you got there. You should be fine for the interview!

I don't think they will give you a hard time. I was married to my husband for 3 years before the change of status. They are just wondering why did we file so late.

My husband and I have tons pictures, tax returns from 2012 & 2011, life & health insurance, two authorized credit cards, checking account and a gym membership.

They usually ask for the tax returns. But in my case, they inquire if I had been in legal status in the United States ever since I came here in 2004.

Hopefully, my interview will be as easy as yours. I'm really worried because you will never know what it will be till the date comes. I guess everyone in here has the same feeling.

And I don't have anyone I can talk to beside my husband, so I can't really relieve my anxiety and stress.

True. I agree with you. Eventhough, there are people in your place that had the same experience. It always feel you are alone in thi situation. I had that feeling that people seems to not be able to understand the stress and demise of being in a foreign land without permanent residency. In this country, there are too many restrictions. Be an international student, you can not work (the university that I go to does not allow that. Even though there are in campus jobs, it will not be available to international students anyway.) This why I join this forum. This made me realize that I am not alone with this journey. If you are here in the country since 2009, do not forget to bring your documents that you are here in legal status.

Congratualtions!!!

Start preparing your backpack!!!

Thanks. You bet I will have a big backpack :)

In the list of items to bring:

- Form I-693 medical and I-864 affidavit support: it says (unless already submitted), did you guys bring those anyway (copy of medical and scan print of i-864 with all taxes and stuff?)

- Certified copy of marriage document: I sent a scan of the original.. shall I bring the original to the interview along with a copy for them to keep?

One more question.. once approved they stamp your passport so you can travel until you get the physical green card?

I will be travelling about 2-3 weeks after my interview to Canada, hope it's OK or maybe just use the Advance Parole card?

I'm going to take a copy of everything that I submitted just in case. I was told to bring originals and copies. I sent a scan of my certificate too so I don't think that's an issue.

Lol! Don't forget the kitchen sink. I still remember the gaurd making fun of me that the back pack has the same size as a pressure cooker.

We brought the copy from the doctor. Including the I-864 and the transcripts including the 2012 W2 (We did not file this in the packet).

I also brought the original marriage document including the pictures with copies. There were some documents that the photocopier did not do any justice. Good thing the USCIS officer have a copier in her office.

However, they were more concern that I was in legal status since 2004. Good thing, I brought all my immigration paperworks.

They did not stamp my passport anymore. They just gave me a letter stating to wait for the another interview or a decision in the mail. After 1 hour, you will be updated online when your card is in production.

I would rather have you wait for your green card since it took me 1.5 weeks to receive mine in the mail after the interview.
