I am an immigrant previously married but it didnt work out due to infidelity on her part so i divorced her then married my girl friend of almost 2 yrs and we got married on the beach in oahu island. My application for AOS along with i765 and i130 was received at the chicago lock box on the 21st of Feb , Biometrics done on the 25th of March and interview on the 29th of April . I didnt know i was selected for a stoke interview as it didnt say on the interview paper but to cut long story short, me and my wife were interviewed seperately by 2 io officers for an hour each and it was recorded by typing computer by the IO . I was asked several questions like where did i meet my wife, the address she used to live when we met and was even questioned about my visa and asked if i went for the judo competetion i came for. My wife was also asked several questions like what Grocery store we shop at , the name of the street where the grocery store is ,the road / route she normally took to work . We live on the lake so the officer asked my wife is we lived behind the lake she said no we live on the lake . I know some of the questions we were asked might not match because you never know what to expect and It was such a nerve wrecking experience but i didnt care since our marriage is bonafide . About 10 minutes into my wifes interview after i was escorted outside, the IO asked for my wifes parents phone number and he called both parents to confirm our marriage is legit and the io even asked my wifes mum dont she think the trip to hawaii is expensive? She confirmed she gave us some money and that my parents also sent me some money. . I had 2 jobs and i made 44k last year and i submitted a joint filed tax return as well as 1099's we both receive from our school . My wife wasnt working last year but she started working about 3 months before our interview date . The Io does not seem to be interested in any of the documents we took with us such as insurance,lease agreement, dental and health .After the interview,the Io gave my wife a slip of paper which stated interview is under review and will be notified in the mail if additional document is needed or if a deceision was made. I checked my case status online days after the interview but i485 still in testing and interview , i130 initial review and i765 card production as at may 2nd . Can anyone tell me what to expect ? i couldnt sleep or eat !

I expected to be valid from the date of I-485 approval, but it says: Resident since 02/12/13 (which was my NOA date) and expires on 02/12/15 ... that's even better and means I should be fine to apply for ROC by the end of next year!

I had an I-485 filing already submitted through an employment-based application. Post-marriage, I submitted an I-130, which after being approved was interfiled with the existing I-485.

Interfiling/AOS Timeline:

01/03/14 - Day 274 - Interfiling request received by USCIS

04/03/14 - Day 364 - Interfiling service request sent

04/30/14 - Day 391 - Second interfiling service request sent

05/19/14 - Day 410 - Email sent asking for case status update

06/04/14 - Day 426 - Response received that I-485 was transferred to NBC

06/05/14 - Day 427 - I-485 updated to "sent to local office for processing"

07/02/14 - Day 454 - Status changed to testing & interview. Interview date August 4!!

08/04/14 - Day 487 - Mini-Stokes interview. IO intended on approving AOS but the computer did not show I-130 approval. The wait goes on...

08/18/14 - Day 501 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 is approved but no card prodn ordered. Asked to call back in 2 weeks if no update.

08/29/14 - Day 512 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 was not approved yet, but my file was with an IO for a decision

09/03/14 - Day 517 - Wrote a request to my Congressman asking for assistance

09/09/14 - Day 523 - Status updated to Card/Document Production

09/15/14 - Day 529 - Status update - Card mailed to address on record/permanent resident status registered

09/15/14 - Day 529 - Status update - Card picked up by USPS.

09/16/14 - Day 530 - GREEN CARD RECEIVED IN THE MAIL!!

I-751 Timeline:

05/25/16 - Day 000 - I-751packet mailed to CSC

05/27/16 - Day 002 - I-751 packet received at CSC

06/02/16 - Day 008 - Check cashed

Guys I wonder how long it will take to get an update from USCIS, at least AP/EAD approvals!

18+ days now since RFE has been received at NBC but radio-silence ever since. I've read usual 2 weeks turn around on RFE response review, not the 60 days "advertised".. any thoughts?

I knew when I applied in Feb I wouldn't get AP before April so I didn't plan any out of country till July.. hopefully I will get it well ahead July trip so I can book it soon biggrin.png

I never received my EAD card. But I also got my green card last saturday. It was an amazing feeling when I went to the SS office. I like the fact that they destroyed my previous SSN card.

This might be a silly question but how is your SSN card/number different now that you have your GC?

The SS number stays the same, but I also need to change my card, because it states "valid for work only with INS authorization", and also because I took my husband's last name.
