Here is the abbreviated story

Entered POE, JFK October 26, 2012

Married that afternoon.

After dealing with Storm Sandy for a couple of weeks went to do my application for SSN only to find out that the officer messed up when we came through. My husbands name was added instead of mine.(another long story)

I was told I have to have an unexpired I-94 to get SSN, register my car and several other things.

I then sent off the application I-102 explaining that is was not my fault for the error. This was done Nov 13, 2012. Received my NOA for that Nov. 15

Sent in my AOS package on Dec 12,NOA Dec 15 I think.

Now in my package I also included copies of my paperwork for my pending I-102.

The person who redirected the paperwork to the appropriate desks made a mistake and generated another I-102.

So now my I-94 which was never correct is expired.

I just received my approval for my I765 and I131.

A service request was put in 2 weeks ago, I called USCIS again talked with Tier 3 officer and they did an over ride and said it will be pushed to the top.

Where exactly do I stand?

Can I work without the SSN, Can I work with the approval of the I765?

PLEASE help straighten out my brain...

many many thanks

Terri

Go back to SSA with your EAD and get a SSN. I-94 does not matter now that you have EAD. You need SSN to work.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

OMG.... thank you so much for getting back so quickly. What a nightmare this has been.

Terri

also do I have to wait for the card itself or can I go in to SSN with the email of approval?
