what county are you in? Actually I have a friend (Mary), whose father abandoned a half Filipina daughter over there oh....21 years ago? (Thus I have no respect for the guy). Now she's finally making her way to the US. She's going to land in NYC in a few days. Long story, and I've an appt for dim sum. Talk more later.

Anyway, so my friend Mary (my daughter's Godmother)..... Mary's father was in the air force a number of years ago. He was stationed in the Philippines with his family. Of course he abandons his wife and 3 kids and hooks up with a Filipina. Then he has a daughter with the Filipina, and of course he didn't own up to it. And then when he transferred to Texas, naturally he abandons his new family too. Never to have contact again. And so his daughter grows up in squalor in the phils. My friend Mary grows up in poverty with 2 siblings and a mom. (she is doing great now with a 6 figure salary job).

About 5 years ago, Mary's half sister found her and they've been in touch since. Btw, mary had no idea she had a half sister in the philippines. Mary tried to petition her half sis to come to the us, but to no avail. So her half sis hooks up with an American and is knocked up. Then of course he didn't own up to it. So now, he finally has a change of heart and so she is arriving soon.

This poor girl has had her share of letdowns and disappointments. what a journey.....

Anyway, we're all excited about her arrival. And we're going to welcome her here with open arms.
