Wow, things are certainly quiet around here today! That's OK, I've been doing things around the house . . . like cleaning out cabinets, re-arranging things, etc. Plus getting some boxes stacked up ready to go to the re-cycling center . . . our re-cycling service doesn't take cardboard boxes from our area yet, darn!

LOL, at least I'm hoping I won't get sick since I got my fly shot a couple of weeks ago . . . i don't get much sleep though for various reasons and that has a tendency to make you more susceptable to illness. One of those reasons that I don't get much sleep I'll mention later (basically worrying, natch), the other is my lunatic cats running in and out, jumping on my bed, etc . . . the cold weather has gotten them hopping. Well, I have to shut them out of my bedroom sometimes and have to put in the doorstop because one clever little girl figured out how to open the door.

You all are all talk and no action! I was duped! There was no crashing of the Russia Forum. Man, I can be so gullible sometimes....

We dropped the ball. Sometimes it's better just to read the Russia forum and not post. Plus, we need a bigger army to go in there!

you may find it pretty common for women who already have children and believe they are done. some people even elect to have this done without having children first! minds can change.

My ex sisterin law tried to talk me out of it but I'd have none of that. If anyone is thinking of doing it....DONT. It's a pain in the butt now.

I did it because before I gave birth I found out that my then husband was cheating on me and I didn't want to have another child with him. My body doesn't tolerate the pill, I got pregnant the first time using a diaphram and the second time using a condom so I figured I'd best take some permanent action. Who knew.

Funny thing is that a long time ago, before I was married, I went to a fortune teller and she said I would have twin girls and a boy. Well my daughters are Irish Twins (less than a year apart) but then I was like, well I"ve had my tubes tied so I guess she was wrong about the boy. Time will tell I guess.

This chick is too old for babies. :P

My baby just turned 18 on Monday, my oldest is 22.

I had my tubes tied when I was 20 and I have no regrets (and no children either). It was the best choice for me!

Wow that's so young! I personally could not have made a choice like that at the age of 20 as I didn't know what I wanted in terms of family at that point and I assume that there was a possibility that I would change my mind. Actually I have never considered gettiny my tubes tied.

How come everyone had their tubes tied?

My mother did after her fourth child, as she developed complications during the pregnancy and the doctor was of the opinion that a fifth pregnancy could be fatal to her or the baby. She was 33 then, so I suppose it's conceivable that had she and my dad divorced or something, she could have wanted it reversed. (They didn't, she's now fifty and hot-flashy.)

I told Abdel about him and that's what he's hoping we can get a loan to go do. We're in Savannah Georgia, so North Carolina isn't that far for us. I moved here from Charlotte. What city is Dr. Berger in? Do you know anybody who had theirs done there?

I got my tubes tied when I was 23 because I was a rabbit. My first pregnancy was basically because I got married and didn't use any birth control. I think I got pregnant my wedding night. My second son I was using a diaphragm and woke up in the middle of the night in the middle of a dream that turned out to not be a dream. The diaphragm was in the medicine cabinet. I looked at my husband and said "honey, we're gonna have another baby" and we did. My sons' father was an extremely irresponsible but very nice man that I thought I would never be able to divorce, and the last thing I wanted was more kids with him.

For 20 years I didn't mind that my tubes were tied. I never had to worry about birth control which was good because I don't get along well with the pill (my doctor has tried using it for PMS control). I never regretted it, still don't. For the first time in my life I do know that I'm finally married to a man I want to have a baby with, and $5,000 is not really that much compared to 20 years of free birth control. From what I've heard of the technology now, it's a very simple procedure and if I recover as easily as I did from this summer's exploratory laparoscopy, not really much pain or trouble at all. I was fine about 4 hours after that surgery and my doctor removed a lot of scar tissue from my abdominal area then.
