You know what happens when someone tells you *not* to do something don't you?

:D

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5

So how was the forum crashing girls? Anything interesting happen??

I spent the evening finishing up my trip prep. Got my evidence binder all ready for Casa. A friend came over to help with the last bit of cleaning/over night party :jest: . We will finish tomorrow and go for manicures/pedicures, then spend the evening in the hot tub!! Wow can't believe the time has almost come. You all are great and I can't wait to report back on the experience. I hope I have good news. I'll be on sometime Saturday to say goodbye... :crying: Have a good Saturday all. Going to sleep now. -_-

So how did that go last night?? Crashing the Russian Forum?? I guess if I get bored this weekend, then I can drop by . . . but I don't need anymore drama than I already have around here.

FYI, I've been working on my photo albums over the past several weeks. LOL, I finished the one from my trip to turkey in 1999 (you would be amazed at how much stuff I could find to go in there . .. being a pack rat sure does come in handy when you want to work up a scrap/photo album, hehe).

Last night I was putting photos into the newest album for Egypt . . . Feb. 2004 then June 2004. OMG, I switched to digital after that first trip, so then I had to print out tons of pix from the computer. Well, all the Feb pix I had to scan in so I could post on my website a long time ago . . . so no problem with them. But I have lots of entry tickets and business cards, etc that are great for sticking into random spots.

Actually, before I sliced/diced my pix from Turkey, I scanned all of those to my computer too. Now I am going to add more of those to my website. Well, another future project!!

Lots of things to keep me busy that are NOT on the computer . . . . so why am I here?? B)

:innocent:

Hi everyone. Well it's been quite a busy week for us - hence why I've not been around. Tuesday I started having contractions while I was at work and came home early. Luckily they slowed down after drinking a gallon or so of water and taking a nap. Yesterday we got a HUGE snowstorm already! Where we live we got about 6 in. but my mom (who lives 20 min south of us) got 14inches!!! And yesterday was my birthday so of course I didn't want to stay at work all day! Now i have to go in today to make up some hours (at least the ones from yesterday and hopefully a few from Tuesday. Youssef had an interview yesterday for a translator job that would be awesome for him if it came through. We also found out that we can sign the lease for a house we looked at! We're going on Monday to sign the papers and I'm sooooo happy!!! I'll have to post pictures when I can get in and start cleaning/moving.

After his interview I came home and my mom took our son. We went to the mosque together and then we went to her house too. We had to sit on the interstate for like 1 1/2 hours trying to get there because of all the accidents - it was crazy! We had a nice dinner and cake and I got some presents. A really cute shirt and a chair back massager for my desk at work. And a Le Crueset baking dish and 4 little creme brule dishes (I know they have an actual name I just can't think of it!). I also got two new cookbooks from one of my grandma's - the Paula Wolfert Couscous and other good things from Morocco (I like it!) and another one called "Arabesque". I keep telling my husband I'm going to go back to school to be a chef and he just balks at the suggestion like "You spent 4 years in college and have a degree in political science and now you think you want to be a chef??" Argh I would just rather do that then go get my masters! I'm really not sure though becuas eone of my old professors and I have been talking and I might get to take on an assistant teaching position at the university in the ME/NA area which would be awesome. We'll see.

My dad sent me some money and Youssef got me flowers, a ring and breakfast in bed. All in all it was a pretty good day!

Wow AmeraMouttaki, sounds like you are really busy right now with great stuff. Congrats on the new house and belated happy birthday. :)

I woke up to the sound of rain this morning. Quite lovely.

It also means no soccer this weekend, which honestly I'm happy for. I didn't feel like watching my son's team since my son isn't actually playing. Yes, that probably does make me a bad person. :P

I was reading on Apple's site that the ipod's don't work above like 10,000 feet. I couldn't quite figure that out. Does anyone know why that would be? Maybe I'll go to their store in the mall this weekend if I can't find out. It didn't make any sense to me.

Really? How high are you in a typical transatlantic flight? My I-Pod has always worked.
