Finally, we heard something from USCIS after almost losing hope for being stuck for almost 17 months..It is a bad news for most of us but i consider it a good news at least it is moving.

For that long wait, this is actually a positive development on your petition. When you respond to the RFE hard copy that comes through the mail, you should expect to get approved within a month of USCIS receiving the right response.

Unfortunately it is not completely bad news...the positive thing is that at a minimum, someone looked at your petition.

Yeah..that long..They said that they will give us deadline to comply. I hope it is just minimal and can be complied right away most especially that hubby is here with me in Philippines..

He has someone living in the house right now, his friend and we informed him earlier to check the mail for us..Do you have any idea Darnell what could possibly the USCIS asked for evidence? I mean what they usually asked and how long should we comply it..thanks

nope - no clue. he knows what's asked for in the I-130 instructions, and he knows what he sent in with the I-130.

If you're lucky, he'll tell you about it, and then the two of you can try to figure it out before the actual postal mail arrives.

Yep..we knew it already but i am still in denial and hoping it was not the one we are scared of

Is the case at a local field office? Are they maybe asking for the petitioner's birth certificate? Many cases have required that when sent to local office.

The case was at VSC MsHogan and we have not received the mail yet but we are pretty sure its the death certificate of late hubby's wife which is not available coz it's been 32 yrs ago..
