In another thread, Darnell mentioned something to the effect that from the date that NVC closes their case review (and using Electronic Processing), the interview will be scheduled for approximately 30 days later. With this in mind, I'm wondering how to time submission of the DS-230 package so that my wife's interview will be on or about August 1.

Obviously, the unknown is how long it will take the NVC to complete review of the package. But I'm pretty careful, and I've already front-loaded with evidence during I-130 submission (and will add more in the DS-230 package). So assuming no RFE's, approximately how long can I expect from the date I send the DS-230 email to the interview date?

By the way, should I send in the AOS and DS-230 packages on the same date? The email size restriction is apparently now 30 MB per email (can anyone confirm this?), so I'll need two separate emails for the AOS and DS-230.

it's two seperate emails for AOS and IV, regardless.

you can send multiple emails per thing, as well, with multiple file attachments.

re: the timing. it's as I've described. Yer missing the turn-around time from the date you submit the IV set to the date it's added to the casefile to the date it's tagged as 'case complete' to the date it's finished with the final review. Once final review is done, the interview is scheduled about 4 days out, with an interview date 25 to 40 days away.

Yes, I've seen the "timeticks" list before, but it seems to me that - assuming I've been very careful and haven't made any mistakes - after the IV email packet is sent, the rest of the timeline is completely out of my hands. That's why I asked "How long?" After the IV is sent, what's the typical time (or range of times) until the date of the interview, including all turnarounds? Seems like an unambiguous question. I realize there is a range of times, but there must be a typical range for Guangzhou.

cool !

from what I've been tracking, along with Saylin's tracking -

CURRENTLY (from yesterday to 3 months prior)

5 to 12 days after sending IV, to when it's added to the casefile

1 to 5 days after adding to the casefile, for 'documents complete'

0 to 5 days after 'documents complete' to 'final review started'

0 to 3 days after 'final review started' to 'final review complete'

4 to 7 days after 'final review complete' to 'interview date set'

then the interview is 20 to 45 days past the date for 'interview date set'

Go Get Em !
