Applying from different country

Hey everyone!

My fiancé applied for a job in the US (he's US citizen), and should he be accepted, of course I'd like to live with him. We're currently both living in Spain, which is his home country. I'm a german citizen. Now I already found out that we can't do DCF here, and because we'd like to be apart as little as possible, we plan to go the K1 route.

Now my question is whether I can do this from Spain or if I have to move back to Germany? Best case scenario would be doing everything including interview & medical here. Going back and forth to Germany for that would be a pain, but moving back entirely for the time it takes to get the Visa would be even worse :D I have no family or friends there that could take me in, would have to look for a new job, etc.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or can give me any pointers on where to get more info on this?

You can do the medical and interview anywhere you are legally resident, so as an EU citizen, that should be no trouble.
