I received my first ROA on June 28th, 2012 for my I-130 spouse visa that I filed for my wife who is in Guayaquil Ecuador.

I have heard NOTHING since. I contacted the National Service Center at the beginning of this month and was told that I would receive a letter by the end of this week about the status...nothing. The person I was talking to at the NSC also asked why my wife just didn't take the marriage certificate to the consulate and come to the US after our marriage!!! Guayaquil, Ecuador consulate said we could NOT do this.....Help!!! Why so long in the approval and why would I be told to have her go to the consulate when they deny they can do that!!!

Very frustrated.....

Thank you all!!

Because the people answering the phones do not know anything about the process. They are known for giving out bad and incorrect information. Its why a lot of people have nicknamed the phone service "misinformation line"
