Hi there,

K1 visa granted/ husband has work visa and SSN#/interviews all done,

On Nov 20, we received the "Welcome to the United States" letter saying my husband was now registered as a legal resident and that they would mail the Green card in 3 weeks. On line and over the phone it said 60 days. It has now been about 75 days. We called and they then mailed us a paper that said that the Green Card has NOT BEEN PRODUCED AT THIS TIME! and to make an INFOPASS appointment to "receive temporary evidence of status while card is being processed."

Has anyone had this happen to them?

What should we do?

What do they do at the appointment? Is it worth going? or should we just wait.

I would really appreciate any insight from those that have had this happen.

Thanks so much

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Of course you should go. You can find out what is going on with your case and get an I-551 stamp in your passport. That stamp is just like a green card for proving status. Bring the letter that shows you were approved in Nov. I am not sure what the hold up is with printing your green card, but you were approved back in Nov. and need to get proof of your legal permanent resident status. Go get the proof you need while waiting and find out why they are making you wait.

Yeah, I guess I should not asked "SHOULD I go?" Of course we are going to go if necessary.

Do you happen to know WHY they would ask us for an appointment? Could this mean that something is wrong with my husbands status and papers. We have DONE everything right and have had no problems so far. My husband got the work visa and SSN and has been working now for about months.

Well, yes, something is obviously wrong! You have been waiting over two months for your greencard and they told you to make an appointment to find out what is wrong. It's probably something stupid like they just forgot to order card production. Just go find out..
