I don't know about bleach... But I do know you can use peroxide in small amounts and it actually works. My aunt's dentist recommended it to her years back, so she started do it, and her teeth are gorgeous.

Hydrogen peroxide and baking soda, mixed together to make a paste, was the old prescription for gingivitis, before they came up with 20 different kinds of toothpaste - per brand. When I was a kid, it was Colgate, or Crest, both white, and both tasted like tile grout. You could use either for tile grout.

I have a small plot in my garden allocated to growing chinese herbs for chinese herbal medicine.

It's a bit over an acre now, and an excellent cash crop - there are many chinese medicine practitioners here that buy my crops all the time now.

I converted already for winter growing, a series of temporary greenhouses of my own design.

Ya, it keeps me busy, but my regular work breaks my brain, daily - I garden (in a big way) to rebalance with tactile work.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

That's great. I have a few acres in Sullivan county NY. I'm forever trying to grow an apple orchard there. The little deer are a menace to the poor defenseless saplings. So far I have only succeeded in growing .....grass...lol, but the farmer next door bales it for hay. But you gave me a great idea. What kind of Herbs do you grow? (If you don't mind sharing).

I learned about the BRAT diet when I became a father. Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast. for a child that's been vomiting, diarrhea, upset stomach. Did someone already mention Taliban tea to aid digestion? (Mint tea)

You could always get into a chinese medicine practitioner's office and ask what they buy ;)

My little plot of 4.5 acres is a professional hobby, I rarely talk about it except to mention I move a lot of horse manure into it each quarter. I do mean a lot, as all of my stuff is organically grown. I grow veg and chinese herbs. veg gets out to the chic resturants that like to buy organic. My goal was to have the whole thing turn a profit - and I was successful at the end of the first year, so I keep on with the same model. I have two terriers that keep the critters away - maybe that'd be the holistic approach to yer deer problem?

as for the deer - you can plant some toxic stuff (toxic to them) around the fenceline or use some chicken wire round each sapling . may not work if'n the little beasties like to climb up to eat the leaves .

I tried chicken wire around the trees. But the deer are very innovative lol. I even set up trail cams to see what they do. They work like a crew, 1 deer will push the wire tube and sapling over and the other one will push on the bottom to slide it out...Next they''ll know how to use tools...But where the grass field meets the woods is like a grand central station for animals. (Deer, turkey, bear, coyote, hare, squirels, you name it).

The farmer next door spreads manure on the grass twice a year and it makes a mess. I have a beautiful 5 acres of grass , some kinda high protein grass ( I dunno what kinda grass the farmer plants), and 41 acres of woods with lots of chestnut trees. So I don't have a fence line. I call it a "hobby farm" but it's really just......41 acres of woods and 5 acres of grass lol. It's not easy for me to farm it......I live 2 hours away.

I'll definitely look into some chinese herb stores around here tho, there's hundreds of them.

I have in the past few years I produced some watercress and pumpkins.....

we have a mole problem. There is like 5 of them. Some smart soul told my mother that she should pee in the holes they dig (sorry for the grossness)....it did not help. So now she only stands outside with a shovel and whacks them.

Back to remedies: so there is this thing that sometimes grows in the corner of the eye (no idea how its called). It happened to my father so again my mom went to ask around what to do and was told that you have to spit in the person's eye but it has to be a surprise else it won't work.

My father was not happy but it worked. We still don't know if it was the spit or not so if anyone tests it let us know.
