Hello

I will have my greencard interview in 2 days Please anyone with good idea how to organize interview Documents. What way and what kind of folders are the best to easily organize and find, hand over quickly the required documents to the examiner? Please anyone with ideas or examples. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

1)You get Accordion/ Harmonium type of file folders in Walmart ranging from $3- $15. They're really easy when it comes to organizing stuff ( and pulling out papers like a wizard without fumbling at the interview when your Officer needs them.) Each flap can be labeled as originals/copies/joint evidence/extras etc.

http://www.google.com/search?q=accordion%20file&hl=en&psj=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&bvm=bv.42452523,d.aWM&biw=1024&bih=485&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=fi&ei=p8kcUc3pK8Gs2gXd4IHQBg

2) Second option is to get a Ring Binder file ($2-$3) with plastic sheet protectors. The sheet protectors are like empty plastic sheets( which can hold several sheets of paper, already pre-punched) Just slide them into binder; you'll have a natural compartment. Tab dividers are another way of compartmentalizing stuff.

In my case, I got both of the above and what a relief it was! I was going crazy the day before our interview; I would have gone mental, if not for these few things that my Husband suggested.

How I organized my file:

Accordion file: (Originals file)

- All the correspondence with USCIS, Originals,Primary IDs in one

- All I20s/EAD etc in the next

- Proof of co-mingling of assets in the 3-5th flap(lease, car title, insurance bank statement)

- Joint purchases, Hotel receipts, Travel itinerary s, gifts, random mail in our names, other bills in the next one.

- Emails/fb printouts, congratulatory mails, misc in the next one

- Last one I added extras.

Ring Binder file with sheet protectors(Copy file)

This one had 2 copies of everything in the same order as the accordion file.

I also had additional 2 binder files worth of additional evidence and 300 photos. Also, I carried all of these things in a huge rectangular bag so I could quickly locate stuff. The IO was royally overwhelmed, but I felt really prepared and ready. Although, at the interview the husband looked like he could use some serious help maneuvering all that stuff. Whenever the IO asked for a document, my husband would look at me in a clueless manner, unsuccessfully search and then hand over the whole file to me

Wish you all the best for your interview! :star: Stay calm and smile throughout. Sending you my prayers.
