Hello all,

Since I returned from Egypt on January 1, 2013 I have been trying to get things done for the first phase of the spousal Visa process. But, I've also been sick since I returned. First a kidney infection and now mono. I'm starting to think my body hates me. Anyways! My husband has been pretty moody with me about how long it has taken since I got back and I'm frustrated with myself because I know it shouldn't have taken this long. It's not that he's mad, he just gets super sad some days and shuts down on me...which can be pretty frustrating. For a while we thought we were going to use a lawyer so I was going to consultations in between my college courses and trying to find a good one. Then, we recently decided because of financial reasons to not use a lawyer and I realized with the help of this forum I could totally do it on my own.

So, how have all of you coped with this long process? I know everyone here has experienced the difficulties that go along with being separated from their husband/wife. It is the hardest thing I have gone through in a while. I know Ahmed and I will make it through, but to know we aren't alone in our struggles would be nice.

Hi Elizabeth!

I feel for what you're going through. I am separated from my husband as well and I feel like I'm fighting this fight all alone. What is more, I feel like our future is all in my hands right now and I wonder if I'm doing a good enough job. Is there something more I can be doing to get him here? It sounds like you can relate to this sentiment. I search uscis website.. I search here and read til my eyes blur. It's difficult but we are not alone and we must rely on each other for support because it takes a special kind of love to endure these trials.

I'm sorry you've been sick and I hope you're doing better. And if you need anything you can talk to me.
