Passport/Visa question

Hello Everyone,

Being my fiance is from Russia, she asked me a very good question, and I am not passport/visa savvy enough to answer, so I thought I would ask all you VJ members who may have more understanding in this area. Now, in Russia, my fiance of course has her civil passport for within their country, and also holds a traveling passport for out of the country, as well as a tourist visa. Now her visa which she used to come to the US will expire in 2014, and her civil passport will also be expiring in Feb. 2014. Her question is, should she renew both visa and passports before her interview date, which we hope will be around June or July 2013? Or...If she is given the approval for her fiance visa, then do they keep her old visa? (meaning renewing her tourist visa would be a waste) Lastly, thinking positive here:) Once we are married here in the US, and before her AOS is processed, what would need to be done passport/visa wise to re visit Russia.

I would appreciate any information or knowledge on the passport/visa explanations anyone can provide, and it will help us both so much as we try to look ahead with positive hopes in our dreams coming true.

BEST WISHES TO ALL

Mike and Lena
