Hello,

I have pored over this forum and am still confused as to what visa category my children aged 13,12 and 10. would be in if I was a USC and petitioned them to come over and live with us. I am presently a GC holder but will be applying for Citizenship Jan 2014.

I know what forms to file and the process but am confused as to whether they will go through the same process as a K-1 or what. Please don't berate me for not looking because I have and is all very confusing.

They will be under IR2 category (Applicant is minor child of a U.S. citizen).

They will undergo medical examination and embassy interview too.

They are immediate relatives and there would be no priority date for them, ie processing should take less than a year. Yes, there will be a medical and interview.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
