We submitted original police certificates (two different countries) to NVC as these were the only documents outstanding in the checklist. Unfortunately, as it has been such a long time since we first submitted the other supporting documents (Marriage cert etc) we completely forgot about sending PHOTOCOPIES! Has anyone ever made this mistake? Were you RFE'd? I'm hoping they'll just make copies of the originals they received but should I now send photocopies under a separate mail and explain with a cover letter that we have sent them the originals and here are the photocopies previously omitted?

USPS delivered the originals today to NVC and I know it will take them awhile to process.

Can't believe I made such a rookie mistake this far down the line :(

Please don't fret...you have probably resolved this issue by now, but I will tell you what I did which was basically the same thing that you did, however, I received another notification from NVC asking for documents in which I had already sent, but after I went through my docs, I found out that I had forgot to send copies of a couple of the original documents and it's a good thing that I had made extra copies to keep, so what I did was sent them the copies they needed and shortly not long afterwards (2weeks) my case was complete.

You don't need to send photocopies of your police certs. The originals stay in your file. You didn't make a mistake at all. Relax. Breathe. You're nearly there.
