I called USCIS today to ask the official stance on whether it is a good idea for me the (sponsor) to join my fiancee for her interview. I was told by the very knowledgeable auto bot tele prompter reader that "You are required to go to the interview."

Of course this isn't true and I asked nicely if she could give me the link to that particular requirement and she declined to elaborate further.

I was only calling to find out if it is advisable to accompany her on her interview. My point?

Even USCIS employees will give you bad information, so if this happens to you, double check the USCIS website, cross reference forums like VisaJourney and Google search if you want to be sure.

Thanks for the heads up. Very often, the misinformation on the NCSC line creates problems as anyone who has been following our case on here can see.

Maybe the robotic tele-prompter reading bad employee should have told you this: "You are NOT required to go to the interview."

What a difference a word makes! These guys are paid well and still make these mechanical mistakes. They can not seem to use simple common sense when it's obvious one is required in answering such basic questions. No wonder someone called them the mis-information (dis-information) line!!!

Anyway, best of luck to your fiancee at the interview!

What has this to do with Students visas.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
