Has anyone had experience at this airport with POE. My fiance will be enterig the states through this airport. Anything we should know he's flying in from nigeria on K1 Visa.

Generally people dont face the issue, but if some do, then it is because of each application is unique.

I have been through Atlanta a few times returning from Russia, but never as a Russian bride. Nevertheless, generally, the lines at passport control are long and move relatively slow. They are organized, not like DME airport lines in Moscow (a mass of people moving as a blob toward the windows). They did have a dog sniffer twice looking for food on two of my trips but he was cute, just a beagle and well behaved.

Hi, I'm from Atlanta, and in my experience the international airport is a piece of cake to navigate compared to most places. My Norwegian fiance has had no difficulties getting through immigrations or customs the 2 times he's come to visit me. We just filed for our K1 visa today, and he's scheduled to visit me again next Thursday, so we'll see if anything changes.

Here's a pretty good overview from the ATL airport website of where your fiance will go once he lands:

And congrats!

13 February 2013 - Sent I-129F to Dallas Lockerbox by Express Mail
14 February 2013 - I-129F arrived at Dallas Lockerbox (according to the US Postal service confirmation receipt)
19 February 2013 - Payment check pending
19 February 2013 - Received text and email confirming application had been accepted and forwarded to the Vermont Service Center

14 June 2013 - I-129F Approved (I never received a text or email notification, even though I signed up for them.)

20 June 2013 - Hardcopy of NOA2 received in the mail

24 June 2013 - NVC received our application

26 June 2013 - NVC forwarded application to the consulate in Stockholm

Well let me say congrats to you Ladyblue! I don't think he will have any problems and everyone is so helpful, his experience will go smoothly. Keep us posted. My husband is from Nigeria but is currently living in Malaysia and ATL will be his POE as well. Good Luck and again congrats!
