They arrived in the mail today. After much panic over sending them to the wrong address (silly us) We recieved the noa 1 for not only the AOS but the EAD as well.

So since we've been out of the circle for a while, anyone want to fill us in on what comes next? And what's with all the transfers to CSC? From MSC? they seem to be going much quicker.

EEEEK so very excited.

*does the happy dance* I can't wait for all this to be over. *much wishful thinking*

What comes next?? Waiting, basically. Just like the K-1, cept this time at least you are together and don't have to do the waiting apart.

You should get your biometrics appointment in the mail next and have to go to your local centre to be fingerprinted (yes again) and photographed. Yes sending those passport photos in seems to be a waste of time and money as they use the one they take at biometrics, but they ask for them so we send them. Make sure you take your passport, marriage certificate and your appointment letter with you.

Then you "may" get transferred to CSC and if you are really lucky you won't be in for too much of a wait. Some people have been approved in a matter of weeks, whereas some others have been waiting months, but the bonus part is no interview if you get transferred over.

Anyways good luck on this part of your journey, hope it all goes well for you.

Cool, so a couple of stupid questions, since we are now officially SANS lawyer, How do we know where our local office is (if you are dead center between 2) and where does biometrics happen?

Ok one more...

Typically Biometrics can be done at a support center or field office, they will look at your address and tell you which office to go to.

You can fine which office by looking at the USCIS site and locate the office, they indicate which State Counties that they cover. Field Offices

Congratulations, and good luck with the rest of your journey!

Vanessa

My story:

09/23/2002 - Met Chris online, there was something very special about this guy =0)

07/16/2006 - We got married in Reno, Nevada.

USCIS:

08/13/2006 - Filed for AOS, AP, EAD - they were VERY carefully packaged with a detailed cover sheet on top of each of the forms, just as VJ's instructions recommend. It was A LOT of work, but it did pay off! (we firmly believe this is what sped up our process big time)

08/31/2006 - Biometrics appointment

09/09/2006 - Received my AOS appointment date!

10/26/2006 - EAD touched and AP APPROVED!

10/27/2006 - AOS appointment at 7:30 AM! APPROVED IN EXACTLY 70 DAYS!!!

11/01/2006 - EAD approved

11/02/2006 - Email notification - greencard will be mailed as soon as it is ready! YAY again!

11/02/2006 - Welcome to the United States of America letter in the mail! Almost there! =)

11/06/2006 - EAD card and White card (a.k.a. greencard) arrive in the mail!

Journey Total Duration: 80 days

Filed for removal of conditions on 07-28-2008 and had them removed on 09-10-2008
