So I have an Indian passport (almost 4 years old). Everything is fine except my photograph, there is some ..dispersion of ink around my hair, so it has blue spots around the hair. The lamination is fine, apparently from where I was issued the passport, this was a common problem with the printer that year and happened to a bunch of passports. I was told this should not be a problem (by a passport consultant).

Just checking if you guys have any experience with something like this. There is no water damage or any other kind of damage to the passport.

Do you really considered it as " Damaged "? Since I have not seen such passport, so I have no idea how it may be looking. If you still have doubts, then better to get your passport re-issued if you have time.

Yea i'm not sure myself. My interview is in 4 weeks and I'm going to try apply for my PCC"s tomorrow. God knows how long that'll take. So may not have time to get it re-issued before the interview also, hardly sure of getting PCC's in time. :-/ *Fingers crossed* and hoping for the best.

If you apply for re-issued under Taktal thru PSK, then it should take 2-3 business days only. But if you feel it is too risky, then you may skip it. It is all up to you.

Just in case if US Consulate consider your passport as damaged, then they may issue 221g to resubmit the passport, but it is not serious thing.
