Don't Lose your NOA2! Make copies!

I've heard of people getting Senators and Congress people involved to get them to look for the lost medical. Its worked, but the time spent was pretty long if I recall correctly. I think my wife would have been pretty upset with me for delaying her green card if they lost our medical and I spent months trying to force them to find it. The stupid thing about it is, they won't give you a visa unless you have had the medical, so they know you must of had gone through it. I would guess they just assume you lost it and never gave it to them when you entered the country.

No idea, but there's nothing worse than knowing you're paying for someone else's mistake after you've been so careful with everything.

I made copies but can't find them. I thought, no big deal just get a copy from USCIS. Well, they want an arm and a leg for a copy of notification paperwork for over $400.00. That's just crazy!

What? :wow: Thats crazy  Thanks for the info

But here's something I really don't understand. Perhaps one of you experts can give me a logical explanation. You can't get I-485 approved if you don't show your K1 visa... but you also can't get a K1 visa if you don't submit your NOA2. So logic says "If person has K1 visa then NOA2 was already submitted". Isn't that just common sense?

If you have lost your NOA2.. DON'T PANIC

People have successfully AOS without the NOA2 too..

I was one of them. I didn't pay the extra $400 to get the NOA2 duplicate copy.

I too am in the "scanned everything" departement. I have electronic copies on my work computer, my home computer, two email accounts and a "cloud" server. The one thing I didn't do which I wish I had was mike copies of my (petitioner) signed copies of the I-129F and G-325a forms. I have the filled out versions saved, but I didn't think to scan in the hard copies them, because I had printed them from electronic versions already. I doubt it's a big deal not to have signed copies of those particular documents as long as I have the actual documents though.

But in keeping with this thread....always a good idea to copy, scan and save multiples and backups for your backups. It's alot better to have done too much than not enough

Can never be too careful. The one thing I wasn't able to make a copy of (my medical exam - couldn't open it) is the one thing that got lost and I had to pay to have it re-done. Not fun.

This makes me think of a good idea. We should photocopy the sticker which says "DO NOT OPEN" and have the customs agent sign it and date the photo copy as a receipt.

Some people have had success sending the NVC letter instead. You wouldn't have got that if you didn't get approved. It doesn't hurt to try.

So did you find your NOA2? or did you pay? For $400 big ones, I would surely turn my place upside down looking for the darned thing!

I think the best idea is to not only keep a hard copy but scan a copy and keep it on your PC and your fiance(e)'s. That way you will always have a copy :)

You only need to submit a copy of it for the K-1 not the original.

Same for the AOS. Only ever submit copys keep the originals.

Pretty sure asking for the NOA2 proof of approved petition likely has something to do with scamers who fake visas.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

 My sentiments exactly!!!

:thumbs:Yes Sir, our attorney we initially hired tired to hold ours out on us to keep us as clients, so when I threatened him with a bar complaint and civil suit he produced ours. Needless to say he did not do anything past that date.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Wow I have saved everything, and even though our process is over for now, we will still need to remove conditions in a few years. I am going to scan everything, save it on my computer, and back it up. $400 is just insanity!!!
