Medical in Toronto - What a long morning!

You've never had chicken pox? LOL I have a scar on my arm that's pretty convincing evidence that I don't need the vaccine because I've had it. LOL I remember showing the nurse when my daughter was vaccinated and she had to point it out to EVERYONE under the age of 25 in the building because they'd never seen a chicken pox scar before. LOL!!!!

Going to get my titres done on Tuesday at the walk in. There is no way to get my vaccination records. I've tried.

I had chicken pox vaccine, Niki. I also have a scar on my left arm but I have no record. But I have no records for any of the vaccines that I had. That is why, I decided to take these again.

I'll get the titre tests but I think when I was pregnant they checked most of these and they were fine. That was 10 years ago tho. LOL

Varicella immunity is required, yes. There's a list of the required immunizarions on the panelphysicians site.

Talked to my mom and hubs this morning. I may end up going out to Surrey for the medical instead of doing the week in Montreal. I'll have to do some number crunching. Has anyone been to the one in Surrey? Would the process be similar to mshogan's?

The process should all be about the same since the requirements are the same.

He needs to either make a verbal declaration that he had the chicken pox or prove that he has been immunized for it before the medical. Is his mom around? She'd remember. Sheesh, I'd think he'd remember unless he was REALLY little. Chicken Pox SUCKS!!

My husband had one when he was young.

I was thinking of just TRYING to bring documentation of that's where the scar is from.

Is this necessary, does anyone know?

I don't think they'll care about him having a hernia previously. They just want to see if they had one now. I don't even know WHY!

When I went, the check for hernia was a very quick look. It was so fast that there was no way they would have knowen.I think they just use that excuse to check to make sure your a male.

Yep, he's coming up a few days before. Then we are taking the kids on the train from Toronto to Montreal the day before the interview. We are going to make it more fun that way and we can also both do some work since we'll have WiFi on the train. That way we don't have to stop for potty breaks or food or to stretch our legs! We're trying to take advantage of the trip as much as we can even though our time is limited. We wound up getting train tickets for the 4 of us for around $350. The kids are excited. I'm relieved.

I've got a chest full of DDD but I guess a guy could buy those right? It was really REALLY funny to me the way the nurse said "I just need to take a peek down there" or whatever it was, told me to lie down, lifted the gown, said thanks and told me to wait for the doctor.
