Really don't have to do much of anything, when you receive your oath letter, then your ceremony, you bring that ten year card in with you, and give it back. They do want it back, don't lose it.

Although you most likely don't have to do anything, I would suggest you call the USCIS misinformation line and insist (politely) to speak with a Tier 2 immigration officer. Don't let the phone drone tell you that this is not an option.

Once you have an I.O. on the line, inform him or her that based on the filed N-400 the USCIS has finally finished adjudicating your I-751 and that you already have passed the N-400 interview and English/civic test and would like to make sure you are now in the queue for an Oath appointment. The I.O. will look that up on the computer and confirm your status or correct it accordingly right then and there.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Strictly a field office function, some have same day oaths, others may have to wait a few months, all depends on the office manager of that office. Is a good idea to ask your IO your field office IO, their oath ceremony practice. Or others on this board may know if going to the same field office.

Only was I know of to contact my field office is with an infopass appointment, or let my senators office do it. Says on your interview to contact your IO with questions, try and find a phone number. Can call that 800 number and go around in circles, difficult for anyone to keep track of 80 different field offices.

And may hit somebody nasty if they consider you a pest, that will misplace your application.
