Hey stan,

I was a F-1, and my case was approved yesterday.

I think the only thing to keep in mind is don't get married within half a year after your very first entry. Or you may be considered intending to enter to marry.

I sent out everything on Aug 29, 2006, received the first notice (saying they got my AOS and I-130) 7 days later.

Got biometrics scheduled around 2 weeks later, and the notice of interview was received in early Oct.

I just went to the interview yesterday (Nov 11, 2006), and I was approved.

The officer did ask for my I-20, but he returned it to me w/o making a copy.

There was no problems at all at the interview.

Just make sure your girl and you have joint assets!

Good luck!

Hi, my husband is also an F1 (well, he was, now he is pending AOS applicant) and we have our interview scheduled for December. We'll post to let you know how it turns out :)

Make sure to send in copies of I-20 (all of them since you entered on student status), F-1 visa, I-94, and OPT EAD (if you have one) as evidence of maintaining lawful status. It sounds like overkill, but to avoid a potential RFE this evidence should be sent with your I-130/485, EAD, _and_ AP applications. Feel free to ask any questions.....good luck on your journey.

My only concern this point is that even though we just got married, my wife and me dont actually live together.

we known each other for 2 years now and been dating on and off and now married.

and married after 4 months of my last entry into US.

she works/lives 3 hours away from me, and she likes her job, i goto school fulltime and cant move until the summer.

we only stay with each other on the weekends.

i talked to an attorney and he told me not worry and just provide proof iv known her since that long ago and we have good reason not to live together. but still he said that would be a red flag to Immigration so he told be to ready and careful.

so thats why i was worried about our Living Arrangements.

Even though you don't live with each other, you should make sure your lease agreements have both names on them and bills, bank accounts, etc.

from what iv read in other forums, some others had similar problem as me but they didnt have any problem adjusting their status.

so i guess i should be okay, as long as i have all my documents together as well as the supporting documents.. joint lease, bank acc, pictures, etc etc etc

thanks everybody for replying.. i will be posting my timelines shortly,

Yes, you should be okay. The fact that you don't live together will be a red flag, but you have a very logical explanation and additional supporting evidence will clear their doubts. Good luck!
