You should have included all family based immigration petitions. They're all processing too slowly. I'm through that phase, but signed it.

They should be reminded that the process is too slow. And then it is really hard for fiance to actually come and visit you in the states because a lot of people are getting married on tourist visas just to avoid the pain of waiting.

There's a reason it's hard for some people from certain countries to visit. People abused the system. They came to "visit" and didn't leave. It's ruined it for the people with good intentions who simply wanted to see their loved ones.

That's part of the reason this process is long and CAN be difficult for some - people made it that way.

I'm not sure what could be done to make this process faster. Reviewing petitions doesn't take long at all - the VOLUME of the petitions is what causes the 5-9 month delay.

there is currently another petition open for all family based immigration.

I agree, they might know about the problem but they should be reminded once in a while about that. Maybe at least we can get the 100k signatures needed and get an official response. It would be nice :)

That's disappointing, only 34 signatures in three weeks. :(

it has nothing to do with cynicism, the point is the government is well aware that immigration is broken and needs to be fixed. Sending a petition won't change anything, immigration reform is already in the works.

people who come on tourist visas with the intent to marry and adjust status are breaking the law, plain and simple, not a risk worth taking. The reason people cannot get visitor visas from certain countries with pending petitions is because of people who abused the system and adjusted their status while here on said visas. The government doesn't need to be reminded of how broken our system is, they are well aware of it. Have you watched the news lately? Ever hear of immigration reform? They are working on it.
