Hi, I am new here and just beginning the DCF process, and had a couple questions for the more experienced ones...

I am the USC and my husband is German, we filed the i-130 in person in Frankfurt. However they requested more evidence of a bona fide marriage, I am guessing since we were just married in December. So we sent in the mail, sworn affidavits from both our parents and photos from our wedding and the last 4 years of our relationship. We did not receive a NOA 1 to say it was filed yet and was wondering if I should be concerned bc for everyone else on here the NOA 1 was quite fast. The officer did not give me a case number and told me to send the evidence in by just using names bc we did not have a number yet since it wasnt filed yet.

So how long should I expect the NOA 1 to take or should I call and confirm that they received our affidavits and photos?

I also had a question on the i-864. My dad will be our joint sponsor for financial support, since him and my mom file their taxes jointly and therefore are both reflected in their 1040, does my mom need to fill out an i-864A? My dad's income alone is enough to fulfill the requirements, but I was not sure since both incomes are given on the 1040.

Also if anyone has filed in Frankfurt recently and could give me an approximate length of time it is taken for you it would be greatly appreciated. We are planning to move in August if possible!

Thanks in advance for your time to whoever responds!

I filed DCF in London & receives my NOA1 8 days after submitting my paperwork- the NOA1 is basically just a receipt of receiving your petition. 26 days after NOA1, I reveived an RFE for affidavits and original marriage cert. I sent that to them about a week later, and finally got my NOA2 about a week after they received my docs.

If your dad's income is sufficient, then your mom does not need to fill out the I864A. You would just need copies of their W2s to show that your dad makes on his own. It would also be helpful to have a letter from his employer verifying his income & good standing. Also paycheck stubs are also helpful (most recent 3-6 months). I am in the same position as you, and those are the items I collected.
