I just filed my I129F and maybe this is a little soon , but I want to plan out my trip . I am planning to be with my fiancee during her interview . I am just wondering when it would be safe to leave . I'm pretty sure I need to wait to get the NA02 right ? Can I leave sooner and have any papers I might need emailed in a pdf file ? I just want to get my ticket before the summer price rise .

Hold your horses there fella. Petition approvals can take anywhere from 5-9 months depending on the service center it goes to and if you get any RFE's. If you want to visit her that's fine but don't expect the interview to happen for at least 9 months. After petition approval remember it will then be time to submit the visa application part of the K-1 to NVC. It can take a couple months between petition approval and visa interview. All depends. You should wait until she gets her interview date to make any flight arrangements. That is my advice. Yeah it will be more expensive than booking a ticket months in advance but hey, you're already spending a pretty penny to get her over here and adjust her status after the wedding. If you're so concerned about money then don't attend the interview.

If you just filed, you have another 5-9 months before you get an NOA2. It's "safe to leave" when you have the NOA2 and you know when the interview will be. There's a whole other stage at the embassy before that happens.

If you just filed, you are looking at approx. 10 months till the interview; if that is the case, it will not be during the summer but during the late fall, prices should not be so bad at the time.

Unless you have about a year of free time and lots of spending money it might be in your best interest to wait until she has the ability to schedule her interview. For now, you have quite a while to wait, at least 6 months depending on the service center you applied to. Once the petition is approved here and forwarded by the NVC to the embassy in Manila your gal will still have to have her medical and hope everything is ok there. Then there is the CFO, PDOS and any other seminars she may have to attend. Once she gets her interview letter you can make plans to visit her then. Also, keep in mind that you may or may not be allowed to attend the interview with her - that depends on the CO that will interview her. It can be a toss up as the whether or not the CO will allow you to attend her interview. Patience for now and let the petition take the process...

Best of luck!

Safest time to fly to the Philippines is when you're approved and already scheduled an interview date at the consulate.

Side Note: I hope you and your beneficiary have met already within 2 years prior to filing I-129F

Good luck on your journey!
