People that favor gun control need this amendment to limit the NRA. The NRA like any organization that values freedom, is strongly against limiting free speech.

Generally people either support the constitution or try to p*ss all over it in any way they can. Not surprisingly the same people that want to controlfirearms ownership by banning arbitrary cosmetic features of firearms, want speech control, and elimination of the 4th amendment

I do believe the organization that has pushed for this new amendment, are actually a moderate group that is against Citizens United. Classifying businesses as people, and equating money as free speech I kind of doubt was in minds of what our founding fathers had in mind. In my view, the current situation is taking away free speech of people by allowing businesses and special interests to buy access to our elected officials. Everything is becoming about the money, if you want to get elected, you need to get the favor of those with the most money. While the average person is taking a back seat. If you think its only the NRA that may not like their influence reduced by such an amendment, you haven't heard the unions crying yet.

As to these crazy proposed restrictions on guns because of what they look like, the left is using fear to drive the majority to demand it. From what I've seen, the response from many gun owners and right has been falling right into the left's hands, by scaring the majority (who don't own guns) even more. Educating people would be a much better idea, instead I mainly see threats of violence and revolution, plus demands to impeach the president. The president is a popular president, even if the right hates him, the majority in the country like him. They're coming off as the whack jobs that are best kept away from guns, or any sharp objects to. This is hardly the way to win public support to keep those that fear guns to oppose new gun restrictions.
