My fiance and I are going through a similar situation although we were originally approved on January 15, 2013. They told us to call in a week to see if our K-1 visa was ready to be picked up since we decided to pick it up at the DHL office in New Kingston instead of having it delivered so we waited the full week and called but it was still being processed, then within a few hours we received a call from the Embassy saying my fiance had to go up to the Embassy on Monday to do fingerprints with no explanation why. He did as told and when he arrived they only fingerprinted his middle finger, which I find strange, and then told him that this should speed up the process and for him to call again in a week to see if it was ready for pick up. Again we waited a full week, until the following Monday (February 4, 2013) called DHL and they said it was still being processed. The following day the Embassy called us again and said they needed my fiance to come and sign a statement that we would not get married in Jamaica. Really?! They waited a whole week to ask for that when the purpose of a fiance visa is so he can come to the U.S. and we get married here so of course we aren't getting married in Jamaica...it made no sense...the lady my fiance spoke to did say however that this was the last thing that they needed and that everything else was packaged and ready to be sent to DHL. He went that same morning back to the Embassy and signed the paper and was told to call back next week, which is this week. Believe me it is beyond frustrating since the things they keep asking for seem to be out of the ordinary for the requirements and we have given them everything they asked for already but what can we do since they have the power essentially. Today we called but it was "still being processed" and it will almost be 4 weeks since he was approved :( I don't necessarily have an answer for you but definitely know how it feels...although if you don't receive a call from the embassy then I would say no news is good news. Btw there site actually states 5 to 10 business days, which does not include the weekends. Hopefully it will come through any day now for you two and hopefully for us as well...I have decided that I am going to get my friend who is an immigration lawyer involved if it isn't ready within the next couple days or if the Embassy calls again with some other random request...it's starting to make me feel like they are jerking us around.

Thanks...as of today they say it is still being processed for us too...I emailed them to try and get some information as to what the hold up was last Tuesday but never got a response back so I emailed them again yesterday early morning and have yet to hear back so I don't know what their deal is...every day that goes by it gets harder and harder to wait...I did find some phone numbers and I did call the 888 number and it starts as a automated recording that has options to obtain visa information although I didn't follow through with the call because it tells you you need a pin and have to pay $13 to get one. Also you can request an information appointment at the Embassy by emailing them at KingstonIV@state.gov. If you want to try the phone #s they are as follows:

Calling from the U.S. dial (876) 702-6000 or (888) 243-4840

Calling from Jamaica dial (876) 621-0252 or (800) 572-7780

Monday through Friday 8:00-6:00 pm

Let me know if you are able to get any useful information if you call.

FYI after much searching online I also found the U.S. Department of State Consular Electronic Application Center where you can check the status of the visa. Here is the link: (https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==) hope it helps.

We haven't received anymore calls from the Embassy since last Tuesday, which is also the last time our visa status was updated...it says the visa was issued and printed but when talking to the DOS early this morning they said it actually had not been printed yet and that was the only thing they were waiting for the Embassy to do is print it....really? #######?! :o I have emailed the Embassy 3 times now and they have not responded to any of my messages....I find it unacceptable...this system is supposed to work for us, we pay for it, yet they are inefficient and seem to be incompetent as well...forgotten paper work is unacceptable...this is a process they deal with regularly and they have a list of forms we are supposed to submit and they are to make sure they receive everything and this should all be done at the interview if it is standard procedure so there is no excuse for that...it's a bunch of BS...I'm at a loss...in my fiance and I's case, "supposedly" all they have to do is push the print button...it makes me start to wonder wah a really gwaan wit dem people lol but seriously I just picture someone sitting there with there feet kicked up on the desk using my babes passport as a coaster passing time....can't wrap my head around it...keep my posted on your status and I will do the same...hopefully it will be over sooner then later and your hubby and my fiance will soon forward

Tre2391 - what was that paper?

---

I say maybe it'll be printed by Friday of next week - but do keep calling DoS Hotline (# in my profile) and inquire for casefile status each day.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
