Wow!

Thank God you got approved so soon! I would like to have affidavits prepared by witnesses of the wedding, parents and friends who are aware of the relationship.

How to do the affidavit?

I might do without it..

Go to a court house and swear it. its almost done like the affidavit of age declaration we swear, in Naija. When u get to the affidavit section of the court house, explain to them, they'll prepare it for u, and the witnesses to your marriage, has sign on their section. and they shouldnt forget to come with their passports, cos the court would put in on the affidavit, and stamp on it. Thats how mine was done, and i tell u, twas perfect.

You have many options to present as evidence of Bonafide Marriage.

I have read some users posts mentioning that Lagos is a not very easy consulate, so you may consider to send as many evidences you have.

It's a good idea to send this evidence frontload with your I-130 application form. You can send a few pictures of you together, plane tickets / boarding passes, call logs, screenshots of Skype/Facebook/Yahoo messenger etc (If you use any of these services), joint bank account (this one, I know that it might not be easy to get if the foreign spouse doesn't live permanently there), correspondence (letters, postcards, Valentine's day cards etc that you exchange through snail mail), E-mails etc.

The Affidavits are basically statements that you can ask your family and friends (who witnessed your wedding) to write and sign one for you.

We got affidavits from our parents, siblings, best friends.

Notarized or not, it's up to you, for us it costed aproximately $200 USD per notarized affidavit in Mexico, but I have read from some other users that in other countries the services are way cheaper than that.

Good luck in your journey!!!

Ok so from my understanding, I can have my witnesses type up their understanding on computer paper, sign it then finished?

And can he, my husband, do the same thing there? Just simply have his witness type it, sign it, then finished like that?

Also, let me look at the links you have me ivyanddan.

Thanks!

Make sure your witnesses write their full name, address, phone number on these letters. The letter needs to be dated, indicate the full name of the petitioner and the beneficiary. Have them start the letter with "I hereby state under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct statement" Then start with the letter. No need for notarization unless the witness has an access to it. Make sure you gather letters from both sides. Good luck!
