Hi guys,

I think I may have a big problem with my interview.

It says on the notice that I need bring my petitioner's birth certificate, but my husband is born in mainland of China and it takes weeks to obtain the birth certificate and mail to US and my interview will be Feb. 20

Is it gonna be a problem if I don't bring my husband's birth certificate to the interview?

They probably won't ask for it, but make sure he brings a passport instead. You should order a copy of the BC in case you get an RFE for it.

You are filing an AOS from work, student, tourist prior visa, right?

Your husband is a USCitizen NOW, right?

I think is enough to show his USA Passport and USA Citizen certificate (whatever is issued) at the interview.

Can redo your timeline to accurately reflect exactly what you are filing for? Thanks so much !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

same situation, my husband called his brother in Colombia and they sent us his birth certificate with priority mail, it took just a couple of days, then we translated it just one day before the interview, I thought we would never manage to get it so quickly. So maybe if you have a week before the interview, you should try to get it.
