AFTER 238 DAYS OF WAITING...I RECIEVE AN RFE!! (Thanks Vermont!!)

I got the same thing. My lawyer missed a check box on my I-129F, so 2 months later than every other March 2012 submitter, I got an RFE asking me to check the box. A month after I sent it back, we got approved. I did, however, call every day/week to see if a response was in the works. Haha.

I am the USC.

So here it is.....

I do not know whether to be happy or sad. I am so confused?? I sent a huge packet with so many information of our relationship :(

On February 8, 2013, we mailed a notice requesting evidence/information for this case to you or your representative. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the material requested. This case will be held in suspense until we either receive the evidence/information or the opportunity to submit it expires. A new processing period will begin when we receive your response. You or your representative will be notified by that office of a decision or if any further information or action is needed from you. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

Ok don't panic as others have said. You could get approved within a month of receiving your response to the RFE. I remember in 2008 my friend got a RFE. He asked for my help to put the response together. He was approved exactly 21days after uscis getting the response.

So see this as an encouraging sign - you're on your way to approval!

The problem is that they do not NEED information about your relationship and you did not send what they NEED. NO information regarding relationship is needed for the petition and sending a truckload of it will not make up for NOT sending ONE item they do need. You DO need to send proof that you have met in person within two years of filing, nothing else regarding a relationship is needed or serves any purpose for the petition.

As mentioned here a thousand times, your petition sits in a BOX until they take it out and adjudicate it. You then get an approval if you did it right or an RFE if you did not.

Read carefully, interpret literally and send what they NEED. Ultimately whether you succed or not is up to you, it is not the fault of VSC or anyone else. Follow the instructions and everything goes smoothly and as quick as possible.

You will get a RFE which explains what you need to send, follow it and your petition will be approved.

I did send proof of all the trips I made as well as conversation and emails. So I think I have the right to be confused as to why I received an RFE. I do not blame anyone, and the only reason I say "thanks Vermont" was b/c I just felt like I was put aside for so long, while others are getting approved at a much later date filed than I did (My opinion). Nonetheless, thank you for your input :)

Thank you! Hope you get your approval soon :)

I don't worry to much about, take a look at your pkg the (I-129F) see if you can find maybe a little error or something that you may have left out... if not hang in there you may rec'd your RFE by the ending of this wk to next wk. Good Luck with everything.

Thank you :)

Whereas I understand where Gary is coming from in his post above, also consider point #6 in this thread:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/410945-k-1-journey-completed/

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I agree with what your thread says. I came to the understanding that it would have been worse if I were denied. Thank you very much.

you don't need to be afraid of RFE. I got one too but I submitted it as soon as possible with all the required documents that they want and boom less than a month or like 3 week after sending the required documents from the RFE letter I got an interview date right away.
